I was looking around my garage today and realized that I've acquired a whole lot of stuff for the 2005 season, bikes, tools, spares, etc.  I also realized that a low life scumbag would love to steal it all, either straight from the garage or at a remote racetrack somewhere.  My question is, what company writes insurance against theft of these items?  I have to assume that with some of the trick stuff I see, someone has insurance.  I'm not worried about accidents or anything like that, just theft.  The only one I've found is for theft AND accidents... yes, at the TRACK.  I didn't even ask how much on that policy.  If you currently have a plan like this be sure to elaborate on the details such as exceptions, cost, etc (pm me if you don't want it to be public record).  Thanks in advance for the input.

Seriously, I don't think any of us insure our racing gear.
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Everything but titled street bikes is covered by home owners/renters insurance. You may need to talk with agent about policy limits for stuff away from home as away from home mine is 10% of policy limits but policy limit is also value of the house so it covers me for what I bring to the track. At home the policy limit if I had a fire or had EVERYTHING stolen it would not cover it only about 75% of what I figure my cost is to replace everything.

I will have to talk to my insurance guy again.  I was told that the only mtorized vehicles covered by homeowners insurance are lawncare machines and golf carts.  Dirtbikes, racebikes, etc. are not covered.

K3, what info do you have?

I agree with Bill...

Dirt bikes are covered at an additional cost on our homeowner's insurance, and then it is only when they are located at our house.

I might have listed the dirt bikes I had the bikes at the time I bought the house so it would have been included from the very start of the policy 9 years ago, but htey said the street legal or could be street legal bikes noway they had to have their own seperate policy but they wouldn't do a comprehisive only policy  had to have liabilty ???
