I've been getting a lot of unwanted calls lately, and learned that Wisconsin's "No call" list is only effective for 2 years. The federal "no call" list is effective for 5 years.

To register for Wisconsin's list go to https://nocall.wisconsin.gov/web/home.asp

To register for the Federal list go to http://www.ftc.gov/donotcall/

Quick, easy, and painless way to stop those annoying calls. It can take up to 3 months to fully take effect, but once it does, you only get calls you want.

I don't want bill collectors calling, will it stop them?  Seems like they know when I'm done racing and think I have $$$ for them... :P

Alexa, if those unwanted calls you've been receiving lately are political campaign promotions, then you (and others) need to keep in mind that solicitations for charitable causes and political calls are exempt from all the rules of the FTC's "Do Not Call" rules.

This includes the rules that would reduce/end abandonded calls.  So if your answering machine is running but there's no one on the other end, it could have been a political call center.  Those machines can somehow detect a recording on our end and will disconnect.

You have to learn to play with these people.  Make it fun and turn it into a phone sex call. You'll be surprised how fast they hang up.

I got a political call the other night and the woman hung up real quick when I asked her what she was wearing under her clothes.

You sure it wasn't Laurel calling just to tease you? ;) ;D

I'm gonna miss those calls from the DNC trying to getme to vote for John-Pierre. ;D Last one I got the guy on the other end to get mad and start stammering. Everytime he said "Kerry" I added in "traitor", "communist", "liar", "Hanoi John" and some other rather entertaining remarks. I never had a guy making a political call to me hang up on me.:D:D After telling them for a week (they called 6 times in one week) to not call again and its none of their d*mn business who I vote for, I decided to have fun with them. :D
