Lowe it is not that he got caught- He could have been doing 175, had freind with two-way radios stationed at either end of the road to ensure no public traffic was coming and all other safety things (less being on a track) and the public would bring shame.  It is not som much about him but how the media reacts and feeds the idiot public, who then eats it up and levels the backlash on the rest of us.  Guilty by association.  I could care less about this chump- I am worried about the future of sport bikes.

QuoteHow fast and accurately do you think a guy with a stop watch and two timing lines can push the buttons?

Those vascar pilots? Pretty damn accurate.

I know that kid... he is a nob!  He has a mister turbo kit...and it is an RC. He is about a buc 50.
I just rode with him this summer up and down 60 and 61 then over to 35...we would do it every weekend. His bike is fast. But he and another buddy of mine with a turbo charged ZX12R would drag race
at over 180 daily. The story put out in the news is kinda sketchy, but his and My friend Matt's Kawi will
do 200 easy...no s h i t!

Mainstream "news" isn't about news, it's about ratings and  the self perpetuation of the myth of media importance.  The media has captured another way to try and prove their relavence by creating hysteria with people who just don't know any better and will believe anything they hear.  News outlets don't report facts, they try to create news.

I'm in the gun business.  Over the last two weeks since the sunset of the assault weapons ban, I have been interviewed by local, national and international news media.  In virtually every instance, it was painfully clear that they had no interest in reporting facts or learning anything, just trying to manufacture a panic that normal people would suddenly turn into homicidial maniacs since some bad laws were allowed to expire.  What a bunch of hooey.

Maybe they will get back on the bandwagon of the doomsday meteor and leave the speedy dude, and the rest of us, alone.

the other issue here is that now the media has labeled the event as a record. Now every idiot with a Hyabusa is going to try and break the record. I don't know too many of us who race and ride who don't "open it up" occasionally. We all break the law.
Period. We were all Squids at some point...don't
lie to yourself. Some people just break the laws more often than others...Don't give me that guilty
by association crap. The guy did what we all do, or have done in the past(he's 20, hopefully he will learn)...just maybe a little faster that's all.

Sorry Benji, but I was never a squid...

I have always been a 100% well behaved, law obiding, in control, with full safety gear, God fearing, tax paying, motorcycle riding citizen.

 ;D ;D ;D

Hmmm...since they guy was riding an RC-51, how much money do you think it would take to make my GSXR 750 do 210 mph? Maybe a Turbo with Nitrous will take care of that? Damn, where did I put that phone number for Lee Shierts?!
