Rules Change Proposal

I'm planning to send in this proposal for a rules change. Thoughts?

Dear CCS,

Please consider this rule change for the 2005 season. After the first round in every region, CCS will reserve the front row of each class and grid the top 4 racers in each class by season points. The rest of the rows would be gridded as they are now, by order pre-entry, followed by order of post-entry. If any of the top 4 class points leaders are not present for the race, the order would be any of the top four present, followed by order of pre-entry and post-entry.

This rules change would allow the top championship contenders in each class a fair shot at racing each other throughout the season, and especially at the end of the season when every point counts.

This change would reward your best customers (those who participate in most if not all of the races) and generally would put the fastest riders together on the front row for some great racing action throughout the season, not to mention add to the drama of the championship chase in each class.

This change would not unduly penalize those who are not in championship contention, or one-off racers from other organizations, as pre-entry riders would fill the second row (and possibly open spots on the front row) and on down.

Of course, this rule would not apply to classes that determine grid position by qualifying.

Thanks for considering this proposal.

I had a similar suggestion but it was for the first 2 rows. Works either way though.

I had the pole on all but 1 race last weekend and let all the top contenders go by before turn 3. ;D :-[

I think that is a very good idea Paul. You have our support. I will write a similar e-mail and send it to Kevin also. Mark

Sounds cool to me also, but what about multi-region events?  I may of missed it in your letter?

I really doesnt matter where the fast guys line up, after the first lap they are at the front anyway. :P No use to confuse the entry ladies with who has the most points, ccs cant even figure that out in a timely manner now. How do you expect them to do it everyother weekend. LOL :o

Don't give up on your dreams! If an illiterate like K3 can write a book, imagine what you can do!

Good idea...

Except for classes that qualify.  Yeah, it's only ULGP, but....

Put that in and lets write it as part of a rule.

Find the rules in the rule book that talk about grids.  Rewrite the rule or add the rule in the same fashion as per the book.  If it's as easy as inserting it...

Super Dave

Steviebee

then they would have to keep track of points  every week.

How's that going to work ?

Yes, what would you do for a MA/SE region event, like VIR?
