According to a reliable inside source, the AMA VIR event has been rescheduled for October 8-10.

It hasn't been posted on any websites or made 'official', but supposedly, its a lock.

Decision was made late tonite and press release should be out tommorow.

Thanx for the info!

Our truck driver hauled all the crap all the way out there, now he's gotta come back, and then do it again in October.  :P

cool deal. I was getting upset because I thought I paid for the license for no race this year  >:( should have stayed around and played with you in FX at Daytona! you doing the 200 next year?  ;)

scott you in now?

WebCrush

I'm so tempted to do the 200 but it would be real expensive.

Aside from going through 10 sets of tires for the event, I would need to pick up another few sets of wheels not to mention would definitely need to have the engine rebuilt after the race.

67 laps, thats a lot.  Its not a tough track, but after the FX race in March by hands were numb from all the buzzing on the banking and my neck was completely stiff.  Former broken neck didn't help.

Anyone wanna make donations and volunteer to be pit crew?

r6_philly

I need
1. pit crew
2. dump can

we did the Team Challenge in Feb this year on ONE set of TAKEOFF (DOT) tires. Call me crazy :D it was down to the cords. Granted I was only doing 2:06-08's in the race but still, I think 2 rears and no front change will be fine for me! I got spare wheels, so if I can just get a crew together it would be fine.

As long as the purse is good I am going to do it. If they pay down to 40th place (superbike this year paid what, 70th place) and pay half as much as they did this year I am in for sure. otherwise gotta do supersport?

By the way, the new course will be easier on tires, and the no quick change rule is great. I think privateers have a better chance. And if I only change a rear during the entire race I think I will get 2-3 seconds a lap from not stopping.

by the way I rode 16 laps in the team challenge and I was fine. I think I could have ridden another stint without getting tired. Daytona was actually quite relaxing, except for when your rear runs down by the banking, your bike keep turing left after you getting off. I kept running off the straight after getting off the banking  :o good that the track is all paved to the inside of the apro on the front and back straight  ;D

but qualifying is going to be tough as a lot of top privateers will likely go for it as well which means buying extra tires for practice and q-time.

davegsxrold929r

i will fly down to pit crew for ya adam. i think i can change a tire or 2 ...

I may just do it. Which race are you doing and how much is it going to cost me for license and entry fees. If I can get the money together and I do well next weekend I'll be there. I know I'll regret it if I don't and have to sit there and watch all of you.

r6_philly

license is $250, pre-entry is $150 first class and $100 second class. Post-entry is $250 first class and $125 for second class. They may still take pre-entries since they moved the date.

I am doing FX but I may add in Supersport as well.

Nate R

Wait, what? No quick change next year!?  :o  :D 8)

yup, FX rules don't allow for quick change equipment and the AMA already said they wouldn't make a one time rule for Daytona to keep the cost down for privateers.
