QuoteThe elephants are restless tonight.  In the erie glow of my computer screen, I type quietly in my steaming tent, thinking of the world outside this stinking jungle.  Somewhere, children play beneath a bright blue sky.  I sit here, editing endless lines of text.
This is my dream.  This is my nightmare...

Renee wants to know why you are dreaming about elephants....   ;D

Time for a phone call.....

Ramblings of a lunatic.  I'm starting to feel like Willard (Martin Sheen) in Apocalypse Now.  Four straight days in this steaming hot office slaving over this damn manuscript!  It seems like the jungle is closing in.  Charlie!  Charlie is in the bushes!
 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! :o
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

This weekend?  Friday night after work I threw my leg over the LBB and headed out to Kansas City for a V-Rod rally.

Rode home Sunday with a helmet full of tissues (damn allergies) and today was spent at the Renaissance Faire in Bristol.
CCS AM 815... or was that 158?

It took every waking moment of the last four days, but I accomplished the professional edit/rewrite on the novel.  Now I submit agian, and next comes the re-edit! :o
I'm starting to wonder why I ever wanted to write a book in the first place!

I'm going to bed.  Work tomorrow actually sounds like a nice change of pace.  At least I'll get to be outside...

Ah, what more did I do...

Well, some e-mails and a call...

Guy I know came over with his YZ400F Supermotard Street bike (cool).

He brought over some different triple clamps that he's giving me to put on my Kawasaki H1 project.  Before he arrived, I started going through my carbs for the bike because he wanted to know what I had for jets, needles, needle jets, the the carbs...

Ended up giving him three carbs (that's what they use... ;D) to borrow to see if maybe it was the bodies or something that were the problem.

That led me to start looking at more of the other things that I have for it and what I need to do to it.  Found my steering dampener (they come stock with them... :o), some rubber mounting things, rear spocket carrier, put the foam pads on the H2R seat cowl, and then started contemplating the stock wiring harness and what I was going to use for the race bike.

Funny thing is that I need, like two wires from it.  One to a kill switch and one to ground.  Everything else can go in the can...

Ah...air cooling, piston ports, carburetors...nice and easy... 8)

Went to Mike Roeser's wedding on Saturday.  Went out drinking Saturday night.  Spent Sunday recovering from Saturday on the couch watching SPEED channel... did a little pocketbike racing Sunday evening (in full leathers this time.)  Monday spent the day fixing my PC at home.

With all the racing I've been doing this year... it's kinda nice to have an easy, slow going weekend.

My racer skipped a mountain bike race, put his bike back together, helped our friends fill dirt in behind their massive retaining wall and drove a Kumatsu front-end loader through town to our house.

I drank wine and beer and read a book.   ;D

MzGirl...Had knee surgery 3 weeks ago...ACL, and meniscus...I still have another week before i can put any pressure on my left leg....not working either, they don't want me back until i can gimp around pretty good and not worry about me wiping out on my crutches...
The knee has needed the surgery for awhile now...hurt it 11 years ago jumping on a trampoline, minor tear in ACL, no surgery.. and then it was fine...then i guess being physically active for the  years, running, biking, hitting the weights hard, probably had something to add to it...or helped it from blowing out sooner...
Yes, unfortunately it looks like my racing season is over this year...but, if for some reason it heals quickly and feels stable and the doc releases me to get back to normal :) then i will throw a leg over the 125 and try a trackday and see how it feels...
I will race again next year..and hopefully make it out to Arroyo to race with ya in the Formula Femme class!
