Winter Project for SV??

Thinking about putting a thinner base gasket on the SV this winter.  She is an 01.  Bought her brand new last year from the dealer, and this is the first year racing it.  Have any of you dont this?  What were the gains/draw backs?  And is it a pain in the @ss
