I wrote this up at another forum I like to frequent.  Its a review and some pics of the Licensing School I attended at Gingerman this past weekend.  I thought some of the members here might like to read it.  I think the instructor (Brian) might be the member here called TZRacer.

Congratulations and welcome to your newest addiction!  Will you be coming to Blackhawk?

CCS AM 815... or was that 158?

I might go down there to watch.  I doubt that I will have purchased a bike to race that soon (SV650 is what I am looking for), but anythings possible. I am considering a couple differnt ones now but i still have to go look at them.  Thought about coming down to practice only on my street bike (R1) and learn the track, but it has all factory plastic and I would really regret trashing all of that if I go down.  Now, if I could find a cheap set of used plastic for it.......probably better if I didnt. :-/

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Have you already purchased your license?  If so, you can come out and ride the Friday practice day... you don't need plastics for that.

And if you wanna work a corner on Saturday, I guarantee you'll pick up some pointers!!!!

What are the dates for that, the schedule shows the 30, but I thought I read another thread talking about the weekend before that.  Riding Friday and working a corner Sat might not be a bad way to spend the weekend.  I ll let you know......

Way to be KW!

Be sure to swing on by and introduce yourself (#42 AM) if you make it to BHF in Sept or Gingerman in October.

Sorry I couldnt remember your name bro....I corrected my post on the other forum.  Are you going to be racing at Blackhawk?  What class / bike will you be entering?

Congratulations! It only gets more exciting. Brian was one of my instructors at LCR and when he puts his head down can really motor. Look me up if you get to BHF. I'm the old fat guy Amateur 356.

If you get more involved you might want to deal with Brian at Baker Race Gear. Great guy fast racer and can really setup bikes. Very good prices as he is a racer himself. Shows up at a lot of our local events and is always ready with advice.

Kevin, thanks for the write up.

Now you are hooked :)

Glad to see that you are trying to find a smaller bike. An R1 can be a little much at the beginning, plus the number of classes is limited.

You did improve each time you got onto the track. Gingerman is a tough track to learn.

Look forward to seeing you out there.
