I for one have no intentions on going back to that HOLE...

The only good thing that I found out while there is that the contract for the current MNGMNT is coming due and the original people want the track back...

Andy,
Thanks for being a great travel partner, everything went smooth and look forward to seeing you at VIR. Good luck to you at Barber! Well the unsmooth parts came for me on the Jersey Turnpike..having the flat , then getting stuck in traffic, lol, it never  works out like one plans. ;D
Man, the more I think of it, the more I want to go to Barber..Travel Share anyone??? HEHE

Well, I'm mixed on my opinions.  For one, it's a good SE track...but I don't know about mid-atlantic!  However, I'd rather see CMP somewhere in there, and maybe even Talladega.  I don't really like Jennings as a SE track...because it's way down there.  But Roebling...the management really makes it less appealing.  I like it better than Talladega, but the track condition and that lack of run off in turn one makes it less desireable.

Like I said, I'm mixed about the whole RRR thing.  It's definitely the saddest track in CCS's SE schedule.  But it's also good location wise for the SE.  My question above all else though, is why don't we run CMP or Road Atlanta?  Maybe even Nashville.  Yet we run that piss ant track twice a year on the SE schedule.

I made it to Roebling last year. I figure I would go because I was in the point race.

I left after work on friday and got there right after the riders meeting. Made my first race, barely.

I love the track, like the layout, and it is pretty challenging (because it takes quite a bit of precision and control to go fast there). In the rain, I know people complained, but it is much better than summit point in the rain.

that said, I firmly believe it should be removed from Mid-A region.

1. It is logistically really hard on racers. Most are not pro's, have to take time off to go racing. 1 day there, 1 day back, I don't think many can make it to work on Monday.
2. It is not combined with a national. I can see going to Daytona, or Barber, for a Mid-A race, to mix it up with the other regions. Daytona is Daytona, and most will go because you need the practice for AMA, and for ROC. But Roebling is, well, Roebling, and a lot of people HAVE to skip because the rest of the schedule is already hard enough. It certainly create some unfair (well we may differ on opinions on this one) advantage to people who can make it to Roebling. It offers twice the points, and you score a LOT of points (small grids). Someone can be right back in the point race even if they have performed poorly in the true Mid-A events.

I do understand CCS add in Roebling in the Mid-A schedule to try to generate some revenue. SE people don't even go to Roebling alot, grids will be even smaller if it is SE only. I know many SE riders ride the MA schedule and going to VIR and Summit. Nicer tracks, nicer experience. I don't know if CCS wants to keep going back to RR if MA is not included. But if They don't go to RR, then what comes of the SE? SE and MA already has mostly the same dates except for 2 or 3 weekends. Take away Roebling and they will be about the same.

I rather see they go to CMP, but who knows how likely is that.SE and MA shuold be more seperate, but MA racers usually fill VIR grids, so I don't know if SE can actually sustain itself as a region.

I just hope they don't go back there, because I know at least 10 MA racers will not go there. I went, and had fun, but wouldn't be going again. Driving 16 hours to go to a crappy venue just isnt worth my pennies. I rather go do a WERA weekend at VIR/Summit if I have to burn that money.

I'm in the 'SE' region being in Raleigh, NC and I'll take RRR over Summit anyday.

I'd rather drive to RRR and pay for a hotel than drive to Summit and stay at my parent's house for free in Funfax.

I hate Summit. I think RRR is fun and have never had any problems there.

I think Roebling is way too far of a drive for me, next year I wont run it even if I'm in a points race. Taking 2 days off work and driving 10+ hours each way, just to race on that crappy surface, isn't worth it. I really like the layout of Roebling -- but the surface is terrible. I spent way more on gas to drive there than I did on race fuel and entry fees. If they paved it by next year, I'd go back.

Sadly I'd go to Summit anytime over Roebling (luckily even that craphole is only 3 hrs from me). Not like Scummit is really that great, but I can work fridays and be back sunday night and miss no work, use less than 2 tanks of gas in my truck, etc...

I'd much rather see CMP in there as a Mid-Atlantic event.

Talladega, hell no. thats even further of a drive for most MA racers. How is Alabama MID ATLANTIC???????? 'Course Barber is in Bama, but that track is worth the drive :) :) :) :) ;D ;)

I'd love to see Road Atlanta on the MA schedule for '05. 8)

Hey mike, I tried to tell you this years ago when you first started racing and hadn't been to either. ;)

We need the MA guys to come down so we can have enough on the grids to get contingency!

If CCS stops going to Roebling I'm not racing with them anymore. Plain and simple.

Carolina sucks in comparison.

Honestly both CMP and RRR are similar and fwiw I like RRR a little better.  I'm not as fast (patches seemed to play a bigger roll for me as the weekend went on), but I still like the layout a bit better.  But driving past CMP for a MA event at RRR doesn't make much sense to me.  As far as facilities go CMP is better, just because of the ants if nothing else and if it rains it has much more traction than RRR.  However, they are both a step below the other tracks; VIR, BIR, RA, even Summit, but we need them to fillout the schedule.  I would doubt very seriously that RA will ever be on our schedule, WERA uses 3-4 regions to fill it up.

I think this is actually a SE region problem.  It's been said that you guys need the MA guys to fill the grid.  Well I looked at the previous RRR race in the SE region and you not kidding, nobody was there!!  However MA shouldn't need to be included in SE events to fill up the grid, SE should be able to stand on it's own.  Considering the SE is WERA's backyard it makes it tough. IMO.

Also contingency plays a big part at least for experts.  This year WERA has alot more contingency races in the east and that included RRR.  The guys who are chasing that money did not go to RRR with CCS this year, adding to it being empty, since 2 out of 3 WERA events there paid both Yamaha and Suzuki money.

Anyway, I would vote to leave RRR on the SE schedule and put CMP back in the MA.  If SE can't support their RRR rounds without MA riders then at least make the combined round a little closer for MA riders.

BTW..(Thread jack! ;)) Also not relying on Summit as much in the MA would be good as well.  I've never been to Beaver Run but if you add CMP, 1 round at Beaver and maybe ever another VIR, Summit wouldn't come back to bite us year after year.  I know some guys wouldn't want another VIR, but either VIR or Summit is going to be the main MA track either way unless you add 2 rounds at CMP.  To bad the south course at VIR can't be raced, it would fix this problem.  Anyway, time to try something different.

r6_philly

I wouldn't be real tempted to race at Beaver, even though it is in my state... The pavement has gone much worth that I think it is smoother at summit! Besides, I don't think Beaver is a good track to race on, narrow, short and that turn 1 scares me. And still no facilities really. I went there this year and it is nothing like the nice track from last year. If we going to have the usual 40-50 amatuer show up per class from MA, it is going to be very dangerous wouldn't you think?

There are a couple more tracks being built around the MA, if that track in NJ gets build soon we can have that added to the schedule. I think 3 rounds each would very nice and then toss in Barber.

If Summit finishes that new track and it is half way decent then we have 3 tracks anyway!

What patches?

Ok maybe I should call them strips, sealant patches, bumps, holes, slippery places....;)
