I wonder if the leather would keep its bite depth to a minimum.  Can they go through leather? ???

Depends how big the snake is, how thick the leather is and if the snake actually does strike. Sometime they just bluff (hit you mouth closed) to scare you. Snakes are fun. Only been bit 3 times myself (well 2 that drew blood). 1 fox snake, 1 garter attacked my watch  ;D and my friends boa decide it was hungry and grabbed my arm.

YOu havent lived until you handled an Inland taipan  ;D Hell pulled black snakes out of my aunt's (in Australia) house a few times. Last year had to go remove a "rattlesnake" from my other aunts place near Prairie Du Chein. Turned out ot be another fox snake under a bag of aluminum cans.

rob, dude you're nuts. i aint goin' near them things. a python got loose from the guys house down the street and i've been all freaked out about it. dude still hasn't found the stupid thing and it's been 2 weeks. find your d**m snake so i can leave my garage door open without having to worry about a 6' python coming inside. i'd i have to blow my place up, or move, or something. i HATE those figgen things!
