Race fan day?

So I'm thinking that if in every region we could get a single day (like a Sunday) that had free or significantly reduced (i.e. $5/adults - free kids) price, we might be able to attract new people out as spectators.

I don't know whether CCS or the track takes this $$$ (I think it's the track), but if enough people wanted it, CCS would at least have to listen/consider it.

I personally send out race reports and invites to every event to my non-MC colleagues at work, and get them interested.  I've gotten a lot of folks who knew nothing about the sport quite interested.  However, I think I could get even more folks out to watch if just once, the price was free/cheap.  Bring them out once and show them a good time, they will come back...

Just a thought I have been pondering on...

Good idea Jeff, you can but try.

It's so cool to see others trying build a fan base. I don't think that CCE will ever see CCS as a viable spectator sport. Now let's see who you can get on the bandwagon.

PS, were you an eNTJ?  ;D

Do or do not, there is no "try".

I've taken too many of those...  I don't remember which one I showed up as.  I'm just an all around good guy @sshole...

I respect the idea.  But, my experience is that it is not a cost issue.

How about a "Move the track closer to my home town" Day?   ;)

Distance probably a bigger issue for an average person.

Cost?  Has to cost something for the liability issue...

Next questions are...

Which "racer programs" help and which harm the sport?

Few "teams" can be recognized as such, "crew members" don't look much different from spectators, etc.

Do you want some of the programs to be representative of what road racing is all about?  Combine expert and amateur GTU to give them a real show.  Might have bikes all over the track with a helicopter comin' in.

Dunno Dave.  In the past 5 years, I've seen an explosion of more and more "professional" looking teams.  Everyone wants to look the part at some level, so they're dressing up.  Custom graphics, shirts, etc.  This wasn't really prevalent back in 99 when I started this (and I'm a pup so to speak).

The term Roller-Derby comes to mind with that thought!...
