Quote of the weekend
"I am God here and if you don't like it leave" Bob Stanely.
What a joke!!!   Is this not a customer service related business....as in we are the customers (paying individuals) and he is the business?
Does CCS treat all their racers this way or is it just Bob Stanley?

Jeff

Amy, I guess it would be pointless for me to remove the quote now since it's been quoted in other messages in this thread.

I am not blaming anyone here and I'm not taking sides.  I know the situation pretty well from Sat/Sun as I talked to both Bob & Bill at length about it.  I apologize if you or anyone else takes this as disparaging against CCS, Bill, Bob, or anyone else involved because that wasn't the intention.  I was simply stating that I don't believe CCS will go back based on what I heard/experienced.  I'm not saying anyone is right/wrong/otherwise.

I will however, thank you and your co-workers for hanging out and posting results after the melee.

Again, I'm not saying CCS or Fasttrax is wrong.  I'm just saying that I doubt the two will continue to do business together.

Apologies if anyone misconstrued my statements (and Sorry for the name misspell)

I think Bob Stanley is affiliated with Fasttrax, not CCS. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Is it just me or is the server for the forum slow this morning? :(

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Jeff

Yes.  Bob Stanley is the Kevin Elliott of Fasttrax

Bob Stanley runs the Fasttrax region.  CCS is affilated with him so that he would run the Great Lakes region next year so there would be possibly a couple new tracks.

Wow.   Well, sorry to hear you had a bad experiance Jeff.  Don't let it keep you away from future events.  Your more than welcome to pit with us at the next round.   Grattan is definetly a challenging track, but I'm not aware of any changes in the tracks surface, or anything different from last season  :-/  Where'd you find the track really rough at (surface)?  I haven't been there this year yet, but I'll be there this weekend. All the people I've talked to say that nothing has really changed since last year.

I'm not commenting on the Bob Stanley situation. I have nothing nice to say about anything, so I'm not even going there  :-/

Jeff

I didn't really have a "bad" experience per-se, but was rather totally out of my element, not having the normal 200 support people that we "always" see.

Where is the track rough?  Hell, is there 20 feet that aren't rough?!?  The straight & T1 were great.  Well, except for the water coming up through the cracks in the pavement in T1.  Everywhere else for the most part was just rough as heck.  I.e., that whole back section through T9, I couldn't get on the gas because either the front or the back would start walking because of the bumps.  T2 is also terrible, exit of 4, exit of 8, entrance to 11, exit of 12...

The most trouble spots were the section of 9, and then back onto the straight.  Onto the straight, I shortshifted and kept my knee over the grass.  I did find a smooth line there, but the speed carried me across the bumps and that REALLY upsets the front end of the bike (read - slapper fears) every lap...

Dunno...  If CCS did a weekend there and we had a GOOD turnout I'd probably return.

Jeff, I think Blackhawk has us spoiled.
CCS AM 815... or was that 158?

cornercamping,
I don't think you understood Jeff.  This was his first time, not his first time this year.  If he says the track is poor, it's his opinion of the current condition, not a measure of the deterioration of the surface.  I think in the last year and half, the only poor surfaces we've ridden have been HPT, Road America and Gingerman, everywhere else has been in very good, if not top shape.

So what happened on Sunday that is causing these posts?

We left Sunday AM, didn't run sprints on Sunday.
I know there was some confusion or something when it came time to tally up all the endurance results on Sat.  What happened Sunday?

I thought the track surface was fine, but the bump, dip in t12 coming on to the straight would upset you preety good if you didn't take the turn wide.

My only *itch:  Saturday morning in practice my F4i motor blew (big hole in lower case, broken rod, ugly) I was on fire down the front straight, pulled of on the access road.  The 1st fire ext. the corner work had didn't work!!!! I was forced to watch the flames get bigger until the 2nd fire ext, made it over to me.  But hey I'm fine, bikes not a total loss, so I can't *itch too much.

Jeff, thats you with the white Woody trailer and black van right?  I was going to come down and say hey, but didn't have time be fore we rolled out.  Never met, just seen you and your stuff out and around on the boards.

Ah, o.k.    Well, yeah, our tracks (MI) aren't the best of surfaces.  I went to Jennings over the winter and was amazed how smooth the surface is.  Now, I did one track day last year at Nelson's and refused to go back because how bad it actually was.  I heard they repaved it and cleaned it up, so we'll see.  I'll do a track day there and go from there.    :-/
