Yeah, but the 03 R6, 03 Honda RR, and the Kaw RR & 636 all came out in the same model year...so.... ;D

Don't think that will bring down any other manufacturer's parts prices...

We were talking with one of the team owners Sun morning and he commented on Suzuki NA already courting Mr Carlson. We were watching him clean up on the B&S track a year or two ago and it looked then he might be a natural that is into training hard. Super cool kid too.

Say, on that Honda/Yamaha debate, is the cont. comparable at all? I had some Suzuki AMA SS guys next to me in the paddock in April, they had wanted to switch to R6s, but said that..."the money was gone." Did Yam ever say why they cut the $$ and has any other manufacurer done it as well? Hope this isn't a trend.

Yamaha is only paying 1st this year...Honda 1st-5th and Suzuki 1st-10th.  I don't remember Kawasaki off the top of my head.

If everyone rides an R6, what do you hear about all the time?  Until we get free bikes, we'll buy Hondas.  If it ain't broke, why fix it.

And, yes, SD, you are right-set up!  Stumpy's bike is set up simply and nice, thanks to your advice when we was a young racer buck (last year!) to concentrate on suspension.  We still get a chuckle out of the "built motor" bit, though.

QuoteTShort now has the inside scoop on the 600rr FX forks.
Our new motto:  Just act like you own the place.

That's right.  All you do is just sort of elbow your way through the curtain of mechanics and crew members, so you can get a good closeup view of those tricky bits.  Then, when you can't quite figure out what the heck you're lookin at (what the heck *were* those little tubes next to the fork leg???) all you gotta do, is just grab the nearest dude wearin one of them funny lookin shirts, and ask him, "Yo! Dude - talk to me bout them tubes."  And he'll fill you in.  Works for me. ;D

Yeah tshort, it was kind of weird- I walked right into the Yosh area, found Reg O' Rourke I think his shirt said, and asked him what they were running for gearing. He waved me up and went over gearing, suspension set-up, and alternate set-ups for rain??!! I couldn't believe it. Right in our backyard. Beautiful. Of course the Hp #s were vague. :o

So what were they?  Data aquisition?

Easy way to drum up quick sales.  Offer killer contingency one year so everyone rushes out and buys an R6.  Then drop the contingency the next year.

I have an '03 R6 and love it.  I haven't put any seat time in yet on a new '04 Suzuki or an '03+ Honda (anybody care to let me take one for a lap or 3? ;))  My teammate has a Kawi... but he broke it before I could get the chance to really ride it hard.  He had some major setup issues with it though, that caused him to buy a new R6.

compressed gas, as in gas over oil suspension - just like the rear shock.  And they were Ohlins.  Very trick looking setup.  Shoulda asked him how much they cost (you know, are they those "$60,000 forks" we've heard about from time to time on this board? ;) :D)
