As usual I must be the only one paying attention but how about 16 YEAR OLD :o Blake Young from Madison, WI finishing 11th in Supersport?

Way to go Blake!  Another fine performance!

And don't forget Ben Carlson in 21st in Supersport.  Amateur, Expert, AMA all in one month!

In practice, he rode behind Ben Spies.  We saw Spies tap his tail at Carlson to say "follow me".  How cool is that!  He said American Suzuki was being super helpful.

Janisch, Hall and Ortega were great to see out there tearing it up.

It was such a great Road America this year!  We had a blast watching our friends and chasing legends.  Stumpy had his brush with fame...short version:  Stumpy and EBoz did a double-wheelie on the XRfiddy as Stumpy transported him back to the pits after he crashed at 14 during qualifying!  I caught Alex Gobert's LP hat at the podium for FX while standing next to Yvon Duhamel and TShort now has the inside scoop on the 600rr FX forks.  We lived it up and ate wayyyy to much!!!! :-X

Too much Fun! The best things about the weekend.

Superstock Race, Hall looking over and shaking his head at us going into eight. (insert big red cowboy hat)

Siebkins, Sunday night Dave Sadowski hammered buying everyone drinks then trying to remember who he bought them for.

Ortega riding with a broken wrist and putting on a great show.

Miguel dragging his father out of the bar.

Later on that evening a picture with Miguel, myself and the big red cowboy hats. Josh hayes too.

Standing in pit lane for the start of both superbike races. Then being in the right spot as the umbrella girls came of the grid.

Just seeing everyone that was racing or not, enjoying the good weather and the great racing.

Sleeping in the van parked next to Siebkins only to be woken up at 4:30 am by my friend who had to be at work by 7:00 am in Chicago.

Stumpy, next year on the track!  I need more of the Champagne girl stickers. One is in a very prominent space at the bar and the other is in the hands of the HMC Ducati team.

Ah, but do you know that they have been running illegal HRC swingarms on those RR's?  Some serious questions being asked, but the AMA is floundering...if you had someone from American Honda on your board...

And they are pumping 150HP out of those RR's too.

The AMA was trying to tell John Ulrich that his swingarm was illegal because they made the caliper captive to the swingarm...

Honda's are replacements that are longer than the production unit...completely outside the rules...

150 HP out of a 600?!? Damn!

For the Honda swingarms, let me guess what the penalty is going to be: $3000 fine and a small slap on the wrist? Honda is probably saying that they are "pre-production units" that they didn't realize were longer, ala Suzuki wheel!?

Then you have a non-factory guy like Chouinard get dq'ed, fined and suspended for polishing valves with brillo pads  ::)

Jeez Dave, I didn't say he through his swingarm at me!  That might have hurt!  ;D

Frankly, I was just happy to be in the presence of Yvon.

Yup, I did read it.  I just wonder why it wasn't caught in tech the first 6 races unless they just added it now.

Let me just tell you what is hilarious about Hondas at our level.  When Stumpy bought his RR he got alot of "why would you get an RR and not an R6?" and "RRs are crap".  This year, several different people  have inquired to our team as to where Stumpy had his motor "built".  Heh.  The Honda wouldn't just be fast on it's own, now would it.   ;)

Rant over!

 :D

Heather

PS - Now that I think of it, I wish he would have thrown the swingarm.  We need the spares!!!

It was recently added.

It was found in tech, but then it was "lost" by the officials...

More examples of the corrupt system that makes up AMA Pro Racing.

Still, at this level, and in FUSA, who's winning expert races on RR's?

Parts cost?  Buy something for an RR then compare it to the same part on the R6.

There are still early generation R6's running around up front.

These are my opinions based on my own experiences.  Comparing much of anything to AMA...well, that's not reality.  Frames, wheels, brakes, motor internals...lots of goofy stuff going on there...would that same bike that Miguel rode in Supersport last year work for a regular club guy...probably not...set up, set up, set up.
