I know I missed my Michelin contingency this go around, but I need a little advice/help for a contingency winner newbie...

I'll explain. I listed Michelin as a sponser on my Sponsor list and I have Michelin stickers on my bike, etc. I did that, just to cover myself, but not expecting anything. Well, I got a 5th in the Unlimited GP (Am) and I saw where Michelin pays $20.00. (I know, 20 bucks, but I'll take anything I can get). Anyway, when I went to go get my ULGP check, I asked the nice lady giving out the hardware and $$$ what I need to do about the Michelin contingency. She said that Michelin will mail it to me. Cool. Well, I started looking around and I found out that I needed to fill out a document at the track so a CCS official could confirm everything and then they mail it to Michelin with the race results. Not just that, but I haven't 'registered' with Michelin (which I'm doing now or am I to late).

So, for next time:

1) List them as a sponser (check);
2) stickers on bike (check);
3) fill out results doc and get to CCS official "the same day" (race day);
4) be registered with Michelin (doing now).

Am I missing anything? Do you guys find that it's worth the time and does Michelin follow through with the contingency?

TIA

I think you got it covered. Make sure you turn in the contingency form at tech when you run your bike through there. They will verify you have the stickers on there and that you are running michelin tires.

Yes, it is worth it, unless you really like to always have to pay for your tires.

Don't give up on your dreams! If an illiterate like K3 can write a book, imagine what you can do!

you dont have to register with michelin.

Fill out the Contingency form, and hand it in when you tech.

Michelin will then send you a card "its in smart card format"

Then if/when you get michelin contingency (a month or two after you finish the race) you can use the card to help pay for michelin tires.

Stickers, and list them as a sponser  like you did.

Also, dont forget to beg the michelin man for a michelin bobble head dog !!!  hehe

Tom has bobble head dogs and he didn't give me one? :o :o :o >:(

That's it, I'm sewing his leather up all wonky! ;) :D ;D

Do or do not, there is no "try".

You have to take your Michelin card to your Michelin guy to get "reloaded" with the current info also...don't forget.

Paperwork! Yuk! I get enough of that at work!

Last weekend, I filled out a pink form (lovely shade) that had a space to input where I placed in my races. That kind of form would obviously need to be filled out each weekend which seems like one more thing I may forget to do. Pirelli sure was simple.

Dryheat,
if youhave any more questions about the Michelin money- give Dale keiffer a call at Racers Edge in Vegas ( our Michelin rep).  He will hook you up although he should be at Streets this weekend.

QuoteDon,  what pink form ??
Larry had them at tech.  Kind of a hot pink color, full page form. As mentioned above, I filled out the regular contingency form for everything but I overheard someone talking about a separate form just for Michelin. When I asked he gave me a form that asks for all your basic information and then has a section asking which races you ran, what bike and how you placed.  Since it asks for your places, it follows that you'd have to fill out that form every weekend, even though some said it only had to be filled out once at the beginning of the season.
