Went riding with the kids yesterday and had at total blast.  There's a large field a couple hundred yards away from the house, so we have a small make-shift flat track with differing turns (but no jumps).

We go out, me on my 450, my 13 y/o daughter on her XR-100 and my 9 y/o boy on his XR-80.  We rode around for an hour or so, then hit some trails ending up in some DEEP mud.  My daughter had some probs with this but the boy motored right through it with a little luck.

Once we got back to the field, we rested and my daughter said, "hey, let's race!".  Okay, so how are we going to do that.  Well Dad, you jump on Queue's 80 and I'll take the 100.  We'll do 3 laps.  Okay, sounds fun...  I took her off the launch because she wasn't ready for me, but in turn one she cuts the inside and throws a knee into me.  Off she goes.  I managed to re-pass her on lap 2 down into turn 3, but she gets me on the next right hander (5 turn course).  Lap 3 I'm back in the lead on the back straight & I miss a shift.  She barrels past me with no regard for speed and 0 acknowledgement that her 100 actually has brakes.  She flies through the last turn at a speed which had me cringing and took the flag.

Next up, her & Queue.  Queue on his 80.  I set ground rule that there was to be no contact and Tori had to hold 3rd gear on her 100.  They both launch great, but Tori has the muscle on him.  She has a HUGE lead on him, but what's this?!?  The boy shortcuts the field by a good 50 yards and comes out in front on the back straight.  He wails past me at the finish line shouting "I'm in 5th, I'm in 5th!!!" (a first time accomplishment).  He continues the shortcutting while his sister re-passes him with ease.  Ultimately he takes the cheater err checkered flag.  We all get a good giggle out of it..

We're about to wrap it up after giggling and reminiscing about the day and Tori says to me "Bring along a pencil & notebook next time and I'll school you again old man!"  My sides hurt from the laughter...

I've got to find a place that she can race the 100 at least once this summer...  She really pushed that bike farther & harder than I'd have expected :-)

Casualties of the day.
Tori - Down twice in the mud
Queue - One 0-mph tip-over
Dad - Stopped to wait for the kids, went to put foot down and found a 12" rut where the ground was suppose to be... TIMMMMBERRRRRR!

LOL!!!!

Renee and I did the same thing yesterday (dad was painting body work).  All the while I was riding the 150 I couldn't wipe a silly grin off my face.

We couldn't race (one bike, two riders) but we did have a blast.  Renee found out that 150 in fifth gear cannot keep up with a scared deer.

BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Dude!  Send that story to Honda, or Dirt Rider, or something.  It deserves to be published!
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"
