WOW!  :o What a weekend! We had some great racing!

Friday's practice was more than interesting. I worked the carousel (T5, 6 & 7) on my own and had my hands full all day. I think control was jealous that I had more radio time than he did!  ::) ;)  From the blown engine in T4 to the pair of riders that went down in T4 later in the day...it seemed almost non-stop. Does anyone know how rider AM #988 is? He had a SERIOUS tib/fib fracture after colliding with #449 in T5.

Saturday was busy too. A record was set....an incident in EVERY corner including the front straight. How is #731? Anyone heard? He was the racer involved during the start of a race (can't remember which one).....he didn't have a great jump and got nailed from behind.

Sunday was one for the books! ALOT of slicin' n dicin' in the carousel! Plus, seeing Art Diaz on the '84 FJ(??) was great! It was strange seeing him towards the back of the pack......but points are points, right? Also....thank goodness the weather held out for us. We finished the day just in time.

And I would just like to give kudos to the MARRC crew that busted their asses all weekend! Great job!  ;)

See everyone in a few weeks!

Yeah...nice weather despite the predictions.

And hats off to the MARRC crew.  I don't generally need pickups....but this weekend I needed two of them in a row.  Go figure.  Thanks guys!!!

I would also like to find out about #731. It was Ex MWGP. I grided 2 rows back from him. It seems that he stalled before the flag drop (2-stroke) and was trying to get it going by running it when the rest of us flew past him. I almost hit him because I was trying to work to the inside. I thought "he is going to get drilled". next thing we are looking at a red flag. I hope he is ok, that was a bad incidident. I stalled on the front row at Daytona 2 years ago, and instead of trying to get going I waved my hand like crazy... luckily it was a rain race and people all avoided me.

If you were working T5,6 or 7 on Sunday... I got ran off the track in turn 4-5 during practice (group 5 2nd round) and almost saved it until I ended up on my face in the mud and continued on to the track, trashing my new bike... Did you see it? I was trying to figure out who it was that ran me off. Basically he shot down the inside of 4 and started braking instead of just turning and ended up at the edge of the track and left me no room but to ran into the grass. Saved it all the way until I was about to re-enter the track at T5 and finally dumped it. I am pretty upset about it being it was practice and a fellow racers should be able to make a pass and still make the turn, instead of coming underneath and just take away the whole track and run me off of it.

I'm not 100% certain but that # and bike description sounds like Will Jones and a 2000 TZ250.

I'm also anxious to hear if Wills OK.

He pitted next to us on Saterday.  When I got back his budy and helped him back and he rolled out.  The chaplin came to look for him about 15 min later to check on him

I did not witness your incident in deep 4...sorry. Maybe Simon will see this thread and respond. He was Captain in T5. Glad you're okay.

Its my understanding that the guy who actually got HIT (#731) was o.k all things considered- but the guy that hit HIM (not sure of name or #) was transported to Jefferson Mem. for stitches...apparently when he ran into the back of 731 despite having a full face helmet his chin and mouth were banged up.

Dafan, I heard you went off the track during practice on Sunday-but I was in 10 on Sunday so I didn't see anything...

Smoke, you missed an interesting day on Sunday...we had a turn 8 groundhog fatality and Travis (#440) almost hit a squirrel while entering the pits!

Shawn Brown was the other rider #161 both I think are okay, I talked to Shawn Sunday in registration and he was understandably sore but okay. I have not heard any updates on Will #731 other than Jeanne talked to him afterwards in registration also. As for the groundhog the same rider had a bird divebomb him later that same day. He is really feeling bad about the poor critter.......... :-/

That little guy kept running back and forth across the track in front of traffic....well, actually I shouldn't say little- it was a pretty large groundhog from what Chris was saying..and he is the one that got to clean up that debris.

buffy

Yeah I heard it was like a Texas size groundhog......yuck!!! :P :o
