Thanks a ton Chad for sharing your experience!   I really enjoyed reading it.  I will have to look you up next month at BHF. ;)

I too am a newbie.  New at motorcycles not just racing, so I haven't made the decision to jump in yet.  I'll observe and clock the events that I'm considering participating.  Then after SD's class on 5/10, I'll decide whether I can be safe to myself and others to actually race later in the year.

Anyway, enough about me ::).  Again, I got a kick reading your post(s) and racing vicariously through  you. :D

Nice report Chad! Welcome to the circus.... ;) I can sum up my weekend at R/A in one word but it wont let me say that word on this forum! (which, by the way is a good thing!  :-X ;)) Good luck!

Thanks H-Man.  I have to say street MC experience didnt help much on the track. I spent as much time unlearning my 10 years of bad habits as I did learning new ones.  If you are going to jump in though, I would do it sooner than later in the season.  Because its the beginning of the year there are a lot more people out there at your level than there will be at the end of the year.  Just my opinion.

I look forward to meeting you at blackhawk.

Mark, it seems like a lot of people had a bad weekend at RA.   Thats too bad. I hope everything picks up for you at blackhawk.

I think most racers will agree... Not a good weekend for most. BHF should go much better, thanks. Is it too late to call a Mulligan for this past weekend? I sure would like a "do over"....  :(

Chad:

Congratulations!!!!!  Welcome to the racing crowd.  It is funny that I came to this board tonight.  I have not been having that much fun racing this year (first year expert at the back of the pack).  I have been thinking of skipping a few races, but your report actually brought back some of the feelings that make racing fun.

Thank you for that!!!!

Thanks twg.  I am glad you liked it.  I am just happy that I have the opportunity to finally do something I have been dreaming of for the last 8 years.

Good luck this year.

Chad..you think that was fun...wait until the tires actually grip the surface...and you feel the G-force
of race only type speed/traction.  Nothing like it.
June is good...lots of rain. July is the best...just wait my friend it gets a whole lot better!!!
welcome aboard shipmate.
oh yeah, BHF is much more technical too. which makes it more fun. see you there.

Welcome!  Even the hardest weekends are a blast.

I have to say apparently we're in the minority after RA.  Team Stumpy had an awesome weekend.  Stumpy did well (we were looking for top 15s and managed a 4th!!!) and now we have two more guys racing under the Team Stumpy tent:  AM#407 Ryan Johnson and AM#258 John "Woody" Wood.

We were pretty let down that Stumpy's last 3 races weren't run.  It just wasn't the way we wanted it to end.  Not that it's a bad thing to make them up at BHF but he wanted to race at RA.  He had some good momentum going.
