Question about the Sportsman Class for '03. The rules state that an inline 4, watercooled bike can race as long as it is no newer than '92 model year. So does this mean next year it gets moved up to '93? And what if you have a '93 model but the VIN plate says made in '92? Does this count? I know, I know....dumb question but I had to ask.

Eric Kelcher

If you look at bike models made a major leap forward from 92 to 93 and the Hvy Sportsamn is not a vintage type class. Current rules allow a 92 or previous GSXR750 to run.

When we run vintage classes we go by model year not manufacture date.

I was curious. I have a'93 F2 and well, it's identical to a '92 and a '91. I doubt that would fly at the track though.

Well how about this abortion a '92 GSXR 600 chassis with a '93 750 motor?  A "freind" would like the answer to this question so he can have a chance of winnnig a championship(even with this I doubt he can ;D ;D)

I emailed Kevin Elliott about this too last year. I have a 93F3 also. He stated since it was unchanged from teh 92's its allowed.

Yes Rob is right, but make sure you have spec sheets from the '92 and '93 models with you at the track, since the burden of proof rests with the protested rider.

93 was last year of F2 right? 94 may have been I have fallen down and gone boom since then
If it is then then it had different forks

94 was the last F2. It had different forks and front brakes from what I understand.

I believe that the chassis and motor have to match.  So, I can't run my Kawasaki H1 motor in an H2 chassis.
