I am starting with 16/43. Another rider (Jason D'Amico) told me he had used 16/42. I am assuming that we will not be using the Kink. This may cause some gearing changes.
Damn, didn't know that was you Lee. The correct gearing is 13/50.43/16 = 2.687546/15 = 3.066740/15 = 2.666741/15 = 2.733343/16 is closer to 40/15. Here is how to calculate. Divide 43 by 16 then multiply by 15 to get rear sprocket. (43/16)*15 = 40.3125The Bend was added to slow speeds through the Kink. RA will probably require all motorcycles to use the Bend.
What is the 15 for, the way I have always done it, and been taught to do it is to divide the front by the rear, 16/43 = .37215/46 = .32615/47 = .319As you can see 16/43 is geared higher than a 15/46.
