please CCS have someone answer this.
im new this year, so if im unknowledgable, be patient, no one was born knowing everything!!

when i seriously think about it, it doesnt seem that it should be legal to keep my money if i am unable to make a race, or even choose not to.

i think that as long as it's before the race starts, or even during the race.
i feel this way (FYI)  because if it were me, and someone said, hey ike, my bike broke, i cant race. can you give me my 200 bucks back? i'd want to give it back.

i want CCS to operate, but on GOOD money, not strong arm money, ......

Ike,

You can file for a refund for portions of your money, but you can't get it all back.

Really it's a fair scenario because CCS will only sell so many entries for a particular race (although I've seen them start like 80 at BHF so I don't know what the ceiling is), so they could potentially be turning someone down for your entry and then it would seem unfair to them to offer a refund.

I believe that the rule if you can't race because of crash damage, you have to file before the race starts and you forefit the 1st paid race, and then you receive your fees back for subsequent races as long as they were not sold-out events.

Check the rule book on it...

As for refunding if you 'choose' not to race?  I'd love that!  So would everybody else who doesn't like racing in the rain, etc.  Unfortunately CCS would go out of business or (gulp) raise their prices even more because everyone would back out during bad weather...

I have some recent experience in this matter.  I registered on Saturday morning and then found out my bike had sprung a leak.  I never went through tech and therefore never even made it onto the track.  About an hour before my first race I decided to stop working on repairs and bag the whole weekend.  CCS refunded my entire entrance fee because they were able to verify that I hadn't gone through tech.  If I had gone through tech they would have refunded all but the first race ($65).  The reason for this is clear.  If I had gone through tech then I might have gotten some track time during practice.  Since they can't prove whether I was in practice or not they would have to assume I was and therefore charge me for at least one race, otherwise we could all leech some free track time by signing up and then cancelling races.

I think the cutoff is that you have to "apply" for your refund no later than 30 minutes prior to your race.  I'm not sure if you need a good excuse or not, they did ask me why I was cancelling.  I know for certain that mechanical failures and crash damage are good enough resons.  I think the refund procedure might be spelled out in the rule book.

My husband crashed out in practice did not race and they knew his bike was not capable of running and I still had to fill out paperwork , wait over a month and got back a whopping $30.00 out of $180.00. I even ask if they could transfer to the next race I thought that would be fair but they said that would be too much paperwork. How hard would it be to give you a voucher right there and you turn it in for next race?

I just applied for a refund for last weekend's races at BHF.  I pre-registered for the whole weekend, but a lowside in turn-4 during the Rosno school on Thursday ended my weekend.  Reading the refund form... they keep the first race fee, and $10 from each remaining race you entered.

I can agree with the $10/race deal, since it IS gonna take them some work to re-do the grids, etc.  Keeping the first race (which is always $65) kinda sucks tho.

Hi Guys!  The refund policy is as follows:
If you are pre-entered and cancel before the race weekend, you get a full refund minus a $10 admin fee.
When you cancel at a race track, you automatically forfeit your next race, then get $30 for each remaining race.
The policy is on the back of the "Rider Request For Refund" form you pick up at registration.

Ok so what happens if I call CCS 2 days prior to the event to ask for a cancellation - get nothing but voicemails... get no return phone calls, so then I have to get a refund at the racetrack?

Will it be noted that there were voicemails left on my behalf 2 days prior to the weekend that I wished to cancel?

Hi, what if you pre-registered for a race and crashed out (hospital ride) in the first race?  I was thinking of asking for something from CCS...I didn't have the opportunity to ask for any refund or to even cancel because I was in the hospital for 5 days.  If they do refund, it would help me out w/ doctor bills, but if they don't I understand as well.
