Oops!  It didn't occur to me to introduce myself last week when I jumped onto the forum, as I just started out by asking a rules question and then got caught up in the general enthusiasm  :)  Hope I haven't violated any forum etiquette, but I've been around CCS for a little while and just felt right at home among a group of racing enthusiasts!

After a 25yr break from racing to attend to things like a military career/family, etc, I started racing w/CCS in'96 on a Yamaha SRX in 'Sportsman' at age 50, then added a 900 Triumph in '97 to run in the new 'HW Sportsman' class.  After winning the novice MA regional HW Sptsmn championship that year, I concentrated on the WERA Vintage series w/the SRX starting in'98.  I've run mostly Summit Point & later VIR w/CCS since then.  Snuck down to Daytona a couple of times during that period to try and steal a CCS championship (unsuccessfully)  ;)

I don't run in the 'meatgrinder' classes, since at 58 my racing career isn't 'going anywhere' , but plan to stick to LW F40; Thunderbikes; U/LW Superbike on an MuZ Skorpion.  Another old Triumph is in the works for CCS, and I still run the SRX in WERA Vintage.  This year I'll run mostly Summit & VIR, but a trip to ROC/Homestead is not out of the question :)

Welcome to the board!

God may have created man before woman but there is always a rough draft before the masterpiece.

Your tag line reminds me of another 'unofficial' creation myth.  When God told Adam that it would cost him "an arm and a leg" for the ideal woman, he asked what he could get for a rib ;D

I'll be at the Summit point track day 4-8, I also plan to be at all the CCS weekends at Summit.  I've got a naked SV that I pull with an old BMW & utility trailer, if you see me feel free to stop by and say hi  :)

Welcome back to the track. ;D

Thanks Don, but I'll be getting ready for VIR that weekend.  Gonna miss the 5/1 Summit too as I'm having surgery for some old race injuries the day before...prolly won't get to Summit until the FUSA round 5/29-31.

See you then?

Cool...another MZer.  Welcome!   :)

Elaine?
It was cool to meet a lot of the MZ riders at the ROC.  Sorry I missed you in the pits, but you were looking good on the track...didn't you win a regional championship?

We didn't get the MZ project finished until the end of the summer, so I started in the back of every race, as I'd only done a single CCS event during the season (SRX in Supersingles at VIR).  We made it a bit too strong it seems (762cc & 59 ft/lbs of torque)...the clutch was slipping in the S.Singles race, costing 10HP...so now it has a 6 spring clutch ;).  But the thing's truly sorted now, and it flies!

Sad to see the Supersingles & LW Sportsman classes go away...I guess I took too much time away from CCS   :-[  Will be interesting to see what the turnout is like at VIR in ULW Superbike.

Yeah, at ROC we had our RV, and had to pit waaay west of everyone (down by turn 1 practically).  Sorry I missed meeting you too.

I was sad to see Supersingles go too.  I got a few regionals and the am national trophy with the last "Supersingles" title on it.  Still, the other MZ racers seem to still be hanging around for the UL Superbike class.  I have too much fun racing the MZ to get rid of it.  My husband Zac and I are going to race it in the FUSA team race at Vegas this year.  It makes a pretty good team bike, as we both can go fast on it.  It just has to work a bit harder with Zac on it.   ;)

For how much I raced it last year, my little MZ held up good.  This was the only problem we discovered, and luckily it happened off of the track and got discovered when we did the top end.

Wow, that was close!  We've pretty much resigned ourselves to replacing valve springs annually. We're planning on a complete teardown this summer when the bike has been running around a year.  With the stroker motor we plan on refreshing the thrust washers on the crankpin yearly...a big pain, but I just wanted to see if we could build a monster motor that would work...I guess just 'cuz everyone said we couldn't ;D

Hope to have a newly acquired '97 Triumph (w/carbs fitted) to relieve the MuZ when it's time to rebuild.  The Triumph is actually slower everywhere but Daytona, but bulletproof.
