Can you imagine trying to get a better drive out of a corner because you're barely breaking 200 on the straight and that will get you 17th place. Those guys are nuts, amazing, but nuts.

Those are top speeds...what are the lap times?

Okay.  Rossi had the fastest lap time and was only 8th fastest through the speed trap. Capirossi went 215 mph through the speed trap today, and finished 4th fastest in lap times.  I wonder how fast Capirossi would have gone if he didn't crash.

cstem

MotoGp this year is looking to be good!  I know it is "only" testing and no team takes the times "seriously" (yeah right), but the top 10 are within a second of eachother!  I think the excitement is going to be back in MotoGp this year.

IF is pretty big...

Either you're fastest...or your not.  Got to make the package work, right?

I'll admit, I paid my 20Euros to be able to watch the MotoGP circus, but let me tell you, the hour of this fast lap mayhem was absolutely exciting to watch.  In the last minute of the session, Rossi stole the show away from CE, only to have CE and Sete following him across the line with faster splits on the other 3/4 of the track.  If they would have had a better drive in the last 1/4, someone else would have got it.  I can't wait to watch the opening race.  Even if Rossi doesn't qualify well, he will find a way to make it to the front.

Final reports now show the Rossi had the 12th fastest trap speed.  25 riders went over 200 mph.  Nicky did like 214 mph.  I can't wait til those bikes come to North America (I don't care where), I'm going to see them do there stuff.  I only wish we had some high quality fast tracks here so we could really appreciate their speed.
