I recently picked up a hunk of red foiled (highly reflective red metallic) leather. It's very cool , but a bit pricey. I'd like to pick up a bit of blue and green, but would like to know if there's some interest out there for it. Let me know if you think it's something I should consider getting (limited availability), or if it might be just a bit too "Las Vegas".

Might look pretty cool for your name.

Like Nate said, a picture would help.

Geeze, Lex!  If you could talk ME into lizzard skin, I doubt you'd have any trouble talking guys into metallic.  Besides, racers are unable to resist shiny things...
I'm sure you could talk Edgar Dorn into leather undies with blue metallic stars...  Hope this helps! ;D
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

For all of you non North-East people see http://www.mummers.com/

I was in the 02 parade (South Philly Vikings, Fancy brigades...).

How much to put my name on the back of my leathers. 6 letters  i was also wondering, i have alpine star gp plus gloves and i tend to wear out the thumb through index finger portion. i love the way these gloves fit but they dont have any extra layers through that area-is adding a layer possible and still keeping the integrity of the glove, or should i start looking for another type of glove?

$12 per letter. Do you want shiny things too?  ;D

Gloves. Difficult to repair, almost impossible in the area you're talking about, and not worth the time or money. Find gloves that have the layering you need. Remember to look for pinky protection on the side of the fingers (think sliding) as well as extra layers in the palm and knuckle protection.

The new technology is great, and almost any glove that takes abuse during a crash is likely to be toasted, so go for the carbon fiber stuff if it suits you. It does shatter, but better the CF than your bones. As always, spend as much as you can afford. We kind of tend to use our hands alot during the day.  :o ;)
