Just incase anyone missed it....

Bridgestone-Firestone is recalling the Steeltex LT265/75R16 Load Range D times that were standard equipment on 200-2003 Ford Excursion vehicles.

Kinda' makes me wonder about the load range E's that we have on our pickup and Motorhome.   :-/

What is it about Ford SUVs and Firestones? ;D  Still, Dave and I have been all over the country in his Ford SUV with Firestones.  I remember him getting 4 brand new tires on recall just as the originals were starting to resemble racing slicks...  We said it was Firestone sponsorship!
You know, Firestones aren't bad if you keep air in them.  Combine a high cg, a heavy vehicle and an under-inflated tire, and you're going to have problems.  But then, consumers can't be expected to MAINTAIN THE PRODUCTS  THAT THEY BUY, can they?
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Exactly. My brother had the recalled tires on his Exploder, never took them to get replaced, aired them up to 36. Drove it to fire calls like a race car. :o

Funny you mention that whole recall thing... I worked for the corp headquarters of B-F when the recall happened.  We'd actually get people frown at us, "OH, you work THERE?"...like it was evil or something.  Come on folks, it doesn't take a genius to figure out if you run a tire at the FORD RECOMMENDED 22 PSI, problems will arise.  But no, it was Firestone's fault.    ::)

I miss those BT-10's delivered to my desk for 75 bux.   :-[
