What can I say; L-P knows talent and grace when they see it and having a pretty bike and a great photographer (thanks SLIDERPHOTO)doesn't hurt either.  I know Wendell Phillips has a 748 for track days so maybe he likes seeing Ducs in his catalog!
As far as retirement, I would not say it is permenent!
