I saw somewhere in the CCS rulebook the same:
"Any fairing may be used provided it is made of plastic, fiberglass or carbon fiber and it follows the shape and silhouette of the OEM bodywork."

So we can or cannot use aramid fibers (Kevlar)?

Quotedouble bubble is NOT legal in WERA superstock (new rule for 04) becuase it does not follow OEM bodywork shape. It is said to offer an aero advantage.

I am not sure the CCS ruling though. maybe something that rest with the head tech.

Not new, they've never been legal for our stuff or AMA.

Legal or not. did everyone forget who sponsers the CCS series and what product makes up a large portion of their sales?

 Curious....

How does WERA address the SV650-S and the standard SV?  The S model only has the upper fairing and the standard none at all.  However, most SV's racing have full upper and lower fairings.  Since that is not OEM, according to the rules, that wouldn't be legal.

The tech guys told me it doesn't matter what kind of windshield we use.

As far as the SV650 - There is something in the rules that state something like "Unless required to meet standards such as belly pan." or something...

Being that aramid fibers are classified as a polymer, you could argue it's just a composite of plastic fibers (arimid) in plastic resin (epoxy).

Remember: a "space age ploymer" is a plastic developed in the '60s  ;D

OK what about the guy who had R6 plastic on his EX500 at BHF a couple years ago? So what are they gonna say when my YZF comes out with R7 plastic since, ironically, I found its cheaper and easier to find than YZF750 race glass. Or the R1's with the R7 glass?

Rob, calm down. FUSA requires stock looking bodywork. Not CCS.

Dawn, in WERA, I believe any bodywork is OK on teh SV, but ONLY on teh SV.
