Am I correct in thinking that there was only a weight min. in the Sportbike class?

Am I missing anything as far as this goes?

Thanks

IM sorry it was a bit early when I wrote that.. lol

The EX sportbike class...

No other CCS classes have weight minimums, do they?

Nate R

No. I believe thunderbike has a HP/W ratio limit though.

Anyone else think that the rule on weight should include the rider weight?

No CCS classes have minimum weight limits.

FUSA classes have minimum weight limits, sportbike, formula sportbike, superbike (except 250GP bikes) and thunderbike (given as hp/weight ratio).

Considering I weigh in at 232 lbs right now...and race against guys weighing 150lbs....yeah.  Otherwise you are just handicapping me even further than most.

dont feel bad muddawg, im 210 (230 with gear) and i go through the same thing.

it would be nice to see weight limits include rider weight, but that is never going to happen. although there are advantages to being a bigger racer(at least if your in good shape). it makes it far easier to throw the bike around lap after lap after lap with muscle. a person who is 200 lbs compared to a person that is 135 in equal phsyical condtion will have an easier time physically.

You forgot that the lighter riders just bounce off ya when they run into ya. ;D

Heck no. Not to get all whine-y or anything, but where the would that put me? I would have to throw a cinder block on the back cuz there's now way in he$$ that I'm gonna gain 50 lbs just to race...

my 2 cents...

Jen,

You would just run a bike with less horsepower vs. a heavier rider with more horsepower.  That way the ratio would be the same.

Intersting note, last year the USGPRU 125 rides had a rider+bike weight limit, and there were a few small rideres that probably had to add a little weight to their bikes to meet the limits.

Looks like I'll have to add weight to my CR500 motard to keep it under 3.8 lbs/HP to be legal for FUSA Thunderbike  :(
