A new racetrack is in the works for the Joliet, IL. area...just 2 miles from Chicagoland Speedway.

It was designed by Alan Wilson, the designer of Barber.. It is supossed to open in late July 04'

Finally somewhere elsse to ride instead of Blackhawk that is close to home..... ;D

Now we can only hope that CCS gets some dates there this year or next.........anyone from CCS care to elaborate on this?

My understanding is that is it the Chicago Autobahn Country Club...I don't think they want to have racing there.  They are selling memberships for like $32k, and I believe that they are all sold.

Or you could check out the website and eliminate all speculation. :o ;D

Last I saw...that was the impression I got.  And that was the impression someone I know that has a membership said to me.  I might be doing some instruction down there with Sportbike Track Time.  They run a nice program.

Nesba is running there also....we can only hope that they will open there doors to the racing world.

Especially motorcycles... ;D....Would love to have another track added to the season(get rid of heartland...like thats gonna happen), close to home.

They have not even broken ground yet,  July would be a miracle.

this track is going to be for cars and alot of test driving for customers who buy cars from the car dealers that are members so i heard
it looks like a nice track and would be great to race bikes on it so if we want to someone should get working on it, i know some people ill ask some questions

Schedules are done.  They put in for those dates in like August, and they reflect dates that are consistent pretty much year after year after year.

I raced Blackhawk the second weekend in May...in 1987.  It will probably always be that way.  There are only so many weekends, so many organizations.

And, again, they may not race at the Autobahn...might only be a member only track.

As I understand it, Autobahn will have two separate tracks, and a combined course, but the idea is that one track will always be available for members, so never an opportunity to have a nonmember-full-course event. So, two tracks/configurations, one for members and the other available for rent.

Sounds like a smart/sound business plan to have both going.
