Anyone have any phone #'s or address's for hotels in Daytona?  Preferably really close to the track.

email me at defran@entermail.net or post here.

Thanks,  Bart

I have had very good luck staying at the Super 8 located near the Speedway (Super 8 - Speedway).

SUPER 8 MOTEL - SPEEDWAY
2992 West International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL  32124, US
Phone: 386-253-0643 * Fax: 386-238-7764
Central phone reservations - (800) 800-8000
Website Reservations/availability - http://www.super8.com/Super8/control/home

This hotel is located about 5 minutes (2 1/4 miles) West of the Speedway down International Speedway Blvd. (also labeled as highway 92, which is the road directly in front of the Speedway). There are a lot of restraunts, a few shopping centers, and a number of gas stations between the track and this hotel which makes it very convenient. The hotel is located about a 1/4 mile West of the North/South Interstate 95 overpass on the North side of the road and has a BP gas station directly in front of it (which has a couple pay phones, sells Diesel, has some food & snacks, and also alcohol if so desired). There is also a Denny's restraunt directly in front of the hotel which is convenient in the morning.

The hotel is nothing fancy, but I have stayed there the last 2 times I went to the Race of Champions and the place has been clean and the staff was very nice. We were supposed to arrive on Tuesday night this last R.O.C., but due to problems while traveling we didn't arrive till Wednesday morning. The manager didn't charge us for Tuesday nights reservation and let us check in immediately Wednesday morning so we could get some sleep. He also didn't charge us when I had booked the room for 1 too many nights, I will definately continue to be a repeat customer of theirs in the future. :) (unless I want to stay at the beach, which is about 15 to 30 minutes East of this hotel, depending largely on traffic)

A word of caution about staying at the hotels at the beach though, alot of them have very limited parking that doesn't accommodate trailers or taller vehicles due to parking decks under the hotels or very small parking lots. I found this out the hard way back in '98 when I couldn't park at the hotel I had reservations at, luckily they let me cancel without a penalty (many of the hotels will charge you no matter what if it's during Bike Week or Biketoberfest). Hopefully you will still be able to find a decent room this close to Bike Week. Good luck, and have fun!

WOW!!  A buddy of mine just booked us a room at the Holiday Inn Daytona, he is a preferred Holiday Inn customer and he was charged $220/night.  It doesn't really matter though because his business acct is going to pay for it.
All I gotta say is that i hope this is a 5 star Holiday Inn. :)

Thanks Art, i already did.  I tried calling her and emailing her but got no response.

The first time I called the Holiday INN and they told me that they were all booked, then I went to my buddy's house who is going and is the "preferred" customer and he got us the room, but WOW $220/night.

WebCrush

shoulda booked ahead, my buddy got $89/night.

What dates are you paying that 220/night for?

Bart #72

I would have booked ahead but we had a place to stay at a friends house for free but now with the 3rd person I kinda felt rude and it would have been a little uncomfortable, so now the 3rd person is springing for the Hotel room so it is still free for me.  ;D

I booked it for the 25th to the 28th.

How far is it from the track?  Isn't it right across from the track?

Bart,

She was at the MA banquet, so be patient.  Should be at work Monday afternoon.  She does have some $59 rooms available.  The Holiday Inn is 2 miles from the track.  The rate is only good from 2/23-3/1 so your bud may be getting the "Bike Week" rate.
