The race base CBR1000RR was released in Japan yesterday. As usual, comes in matte black only and only 50 will be made available. At today's exchange rates it works out at USD 9,340. It's based on the European spec and race kit includes tyres, ECU, transmission and camshaft.

Is it me, or is that pretty darn cheap for a liter bike?

I'd jump on it if I didn't want to go with an R6 for next year...

I think it sounds really cheap.  I think the RC51 Basic Racer was closer to 15 grand.  I didn't verify the guy's conversion or anything so I don't know if the $9340 is correct for sure.
