I am thinking of getting a slipper clutch for my 01 ducati 996. They seem to be quite costly, I am a novice racer and wondered if the expense will be justified. Does anyone have any sugestions where to get a good deal on one. Thanks, Gary

Not really a neccessity. Especially in the novice ranks. Save your $ for the important stuff like tires, travel, or that oh so unfortunate get off! ;)
There's my .02

Try www.motowheels.com. They have a good selection and offer a discount to racers. I used an STM one on my 996 and it worked a treat although the aluminum basket was well worn by the end of the season.

You'll notice a big difference on entering slower corners.

it is the best investment I have made. The STM is what I use. I don't have the evo model with the 48 tooth plates I have the older one that uses the stock plates. From what I understand this is the way to go. www.azionemoto.com sells them also.

The stock plates are the way to go. The performance ones bite way too much and it's hard to get off the line without the front wheel way up in the air.
