It's not too cold to ride.  I did 60 miles last night.  Got home around midnight.  My wife thinks I'm crazy.  I love the cold.

QuoteDefine cold.
1982 Fairbanks Alaska... in the woods on a field problem. Made the jump at -30. Standing in the woods guarding friggin trees @ 2am, -56 deg. w/o wind chill. Was the coldest I have EVER seen it, or have been in. Not fun at all! Give me a beach and a few bikini's any day! But not you Dave!! I have seen you in a bikini... :o  I'll take the cold!   :P

Rode my Road Star yesterday. Not terrible for the first 5 mile (10 minutes) then it becomes a bit uncomfotable. Once you realize that . . . it's too late! The ride back home was FREEZING! Total riding time, 45 minutes. Total miles, just shy of 30. Time to warm back up, about 4 hours! And that includes a hot shower and a quick nap under a lot of covers! I wore long underwear, about 3 heavy shirts and a winter coat and sloves and boots etc.!

I'll wait a few more months or at least 20 more degrees before I do that again!

We ride every Saturday and Sunday here in Central Wisconsin, as a matter of fact as Dave plugged Sportsman Park he should remember that the original pic at the start of this thread is taken up here (Wausau,WI) on my TTR!!
We are planning a get together up here on the second weekend of February, on the 14th and 15th, every non-proffesional ice racer is invited. If you are interested in riding for a couple of days, thick well maintained tracks are up here!  Email me at PJThornton@vistawall.com , So far I have some loose plans from Jeff Purk, Tom Mason, Brett Boyd, Brian Boyd, Nate Franson, and a few others I can't remember. Let me know so I can give directions and lodging #'s. We are 2 hours north from Madison and 2 hours east of the twin cities.

Hey PJ,

Email me with the directions, I'd like to come out and ride with you guys. I have a CRF450 and an XR100 all studded up. I am not sure if Tommy will be able to make it, but I may be able to bring Gary Carter and Mark Sorenson along.

Don't give up on your dreams! If an illiterate like K3 can write a book, imagine what you can do!

Might be the same weekend as the Indy show.  Did you make a separate post PJ?
