I'm up grading from a CBR600F2 to a 1999 YZF-R6. Anyone know any do's and don'ts or how to set it up?

Good bike.

The forks are Kayaba's and they are kind of weird.  The dampening capabilities are just plain weird.  Similar forks on ZX6R's.

Stock shocks are not long enough, and the dampening is a bit too much too.

First things first, I always change to Hyperpro Springs.  That will at least support the load of traction and your weight.  Additionally, if it rains, you'll be the new rain-meister.  Since the springs are rising rate, they aren't as stiff when the bike isn't loaded up under traction...so, when it's raining and you can't go as fast, the rate of the springs is lighter.  I was shocked how well it worked...and I hate racing in the rain.

After that, get someone like 4&6 to do some internal work on the forks and rear shock.  Everything is about set up.  They are a GMD Computrack "store" and they can get the geometry right.  It makes your live easier.

Really, the R6's were really reliable, and they handle well.  The '03 isn't much different, just refined.

The foot position will be a bit different.  I do like using the Woodcraft rear sets with mine.  If you can't afford those, you'll probably need some way to get the pegs up...Really, you'll want to get the whole bike up at the fron t and rear...they just lean forever.

QuoteDude, those Diesel Kawasaki Mules rock...

What tires would you run on it?  S2 front/M2 rear?  I should be able to leave some impressive darkies with this thing...   ;D
