...  according to the radio, at approximately 5:45 a.m. CST, Saddam was captured in a basement in is home.

I hope this report turns out to be accurate.

U.S. forces have captured Saddam Hussein in a late night raid near his hometown of Tikrit, according to the head of the Coalition Provisional Authority.

Lt. General Ricardo Sanchez showed video of Saddam, who had graying hair and a long beard, undergoing a medical examination after his capture.

Several Iraqi journalists stood up and shouted "Death to Saddam" after the video was shown.

Sanchez said the former leader was not injured and has been "talkative and cooperative," after 4th Infantry Division and special operations forces nabbed him at a "rural farmhouse."

Not a single shot was fired in "Operation Red Dawn," carried out based on intelligence gathered over several months, Sanchez said.

This is great for the Iraqi people.

Great for all the forces there working.

And like racing, it shows that perseverence and hard work will get you results.  For all the nay sayers on the campaign trail...two fingers for you...my military brothers have done good.

Saddam the wussy.  He asks people to martyr themselves for Islam, (religion corrupted and cleverly disguised to suit his own purposes) but when he's caught, he doesn't even go out in a blaze of glory.  So much for his heroic image...
 He should have popped out of that hole with an AK  ripping in each hand.  They'd have wailed his name at every temple for the next thousand years.  Instead he showed his yellow streak.  Now even his own supporters can see that he's a lying piece of do-do.  It's a shame so many had to die to catch him, but a job well done.

Hopefully he had a copy of the 2004 SW region schedule with him in that hole.  04 schedule=WMD? Hmmmm...  Regardless, as a former Marine who was there last time I am glad we finally got him this time and hopefully it will help our troops there gain more control over the terrorists in the region.
