Since Summit Point is the only track with in 6 hours of me, I'm kind of excited about the Shenandoah Circuit.  During a recent search I found these pics.  I just thought I'd share.  If anyone has seen it or has any word on how it's doing, please join in...

NOW THAT IS DIFFERENT! Don't know if it's good or not. Looks like a skinny Daytona. Running off will be REAL exciting.

Yea, I'm hoping it's just the one spot inside that hook where the track surfaces are that close together.  Being a novice here, I don't really understand the "stepped" appearance of the banked area.  There is asphalt top and bottom with the banked concrete in between, why?  I'll assume the concrete area is the intended track area, but what's the asphalt for? ???  I'm also assuming that this track will be used for car racing as well, the banked area looks way too small for cars, or am I missing something?

That turn is a replica of the most famous turn at the Nuremburg(sp) ring. Could be interesting

Dang, that is wierd lookin.  I can't wait to get up there and take a look at it in person. That stepped asphalt/concrete/asphalt stuff looks wacky.

well right now it is not a replica because the ring does not have the step and is banked all around.

And walls are coming.

r6_philly

look at the diagram, every runnoff/impact area is "protected" by "track barrier" which is going to be the stupid 3 feet tall concrete walls I bet

motodirty

That's just the first layer of asphalt, They did one layer of asphalt then the concrete corners then they do the whole track again with asphalt usually a different type of asphalt.

r6_philly

thank you brian, here to contradict me... but the walls are still there :p

hows it going? racing next year? we will running together if you are. I am doing FUSA next year
