GSXR RACER MIKE

I have also heard that riding on the street teaches you bad riding techniques that only apply to the street and not the track. Likewise there are many things you do on the track that you can't really do on the street correctly, therefore re-enforcing the bad technique situation again.

Yeah, like brushing your knee slider against the wall on the back straight at Gateway.  Try that on the Dan Ryan!!! :o
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

QuoteWell went out to Firebird and got it done.  It was exactly what I was expecting.  I must say that launching a motorcycle is way harder than it looks so I will have to work on that before next season.

I will admit that I spent the first two races just trying to survive.(Newbie jitters) But my third race is when I really became a racer.  Started attacking the track and the riders that I could catch.

I started the weekend running 1:15's and ended it running a best lap 1:09.  Man I had a great time.

Marc

Marc, you bring back the experience even though the jitters will stay with you for some time.  I still have em after 6 events and nearly 20 seperate races.  I like the jitters b/c it keeps me head on straight.  Without the fear, i'm afraid i'd do something stupid.  I see too many riders out there who act like hot shit and ride wrecklessly for the quest for a top 3 finish.  Case in pt is me pal Melk-Man, whose clearly riding over his head and has not been disciplined as well as i have as to how hard the pavement is.   ;D  That's not so say he hasn't gone down  though.  Keep up the spirit and enjoy the feeling while it lasts.  Jitters willl soon move to excitement and from their the head will begin to swell and you lose all feeling in the head.

Your on borrowed time Jeffro, im gonna be there the day your "trailer queen" of an r6 meets mr. pavement. After you regain consiousness, im gonna have a laugh. 30 some track days/races with no wrecks, sheezee. Im protesting your bike at Homestead by the way.. the bright refelection that your bike has from the high speed buff/polish your bike has is distracting to me and the other riders..
