Nope! I'm sure the championship was hard to win, but to be in the calendar all you would have needed to do was send me an e-mail.

Not that it matters but you are in February behind Mike, #62.

Hey Benji, I think a spot just opened in the calendar.  :P

Yeah, those rat bastards. We should hunt them down... LOL

Jack, you just don't pay attention to WHO'S WHO in the world of motorcycle racing, you slacker! ::)

Already Benji thinks the world should be falling at his feet to worship...  It's going to be a looooong summer.  I wonder if anyone makes a helmet big enough for that head?  ;) :D :-*;D
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

The truth is that I had a sweet pic of Benji all picked out and I thought it went in. I guess not. :(  A LOT of people didn't get in. That's the breaks. :(

I know, I'll just make the back cover an Ode to Benji!

OK, I'll entertain you and try to explain.

Did you see that some of the dates in the schedule were red? Those were the dates that I wasn't going to make because I had other events.

Who do you think SliderPhoto is? A subsidiary of the ACME Corporation? It's ME. Jack! Let me give you some background. I'm a guy who works all that I can to pay my bills and try and have some green left over--just like most of you guys. On weekends I head to the track, because it's what I enjoy. I take photos, it's fun, people are generally stoked when I get a good shot, and that's fun too.

But let me help you understand, if that's possible, put yourself in my shoes for a second. A typical Blackhawk day is from 6AM to 1AM. What? Yeah, I timed it once. I closed my door at 6AM. Got in my truck, got gas, drove to the track, set up, took photos, sorted, took photos, sorted, packed up, drove home (1 hour) sorted some more, made the samples while I sorted more, uploaded the samples, updated the site, and wham, 1AM. In fairness I took probably 2 hours in there for a lunch and dinner.

Now ask yourself, while you're wearing my shoes, if you would make a trip to Gateway (6 hours) or MAM (8hours) knowing full well that after all that work, paying for gas, hotel, Web hosting fees, etc. that you would probably lose money on the deal? Would you do it?

I have, but I can't afford to anymore. And to some extent responses like yours doesn't want me to either.

My equation this past season was simple. For me to make the drive and spend the time was worth it to me only if I had the opportunity to ride. I don't race, so trackdays give me that opportunity. Going to Gateway and riding with Midwest Rider the Friday before the event, makes it worth the gamble of losing money for me. But if the forecast is rain?

I do what I can. But at some point I have to do what's best for me and what I can afford. And that's what I plan on doing. You feel jipped, somehow ripped off that I wasn't there and didn't post your pics on my site. Like I said before, maybe the answer is charging $25 for an 8x10, $50 or $75 for a CD, taking a lot less photos and not posting on the Web.

I enjoy going to the races. I enjoy watching you guys do what I can't on a motorcycle. But please don't think that I'm some service you pay for when you pay your gate fee. When I schedule an event I try damn hard to get there and feel guilty if I can't make it.

StumpysWife

I'm confused.

We bought a CD from Jack at CCS in July at BHF.

We're lucky to get him once a year to do what he does.  Jeez.  :P

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK , JACK!
