Jesse took 3rd in the heat race but we didn't put enough fuel in the bike and he was 2 lbs under the weight limit after the race.

His penalty was to start at the back of the grid (row 13) for the final. We filled the tank for the final!

He blasted his way to about 10th going into turn one and worked his way up from there.

The leader was gone but Jesse caught the two guys battling for second and had a great race with them. He said they were changing places 3 - 5 times per lap until  about lap 6 when Jesse and Tigert  pulled away to battle for second. On the last lap Jesse said he pushed Tigert wide and didn't leave him any room to pass him on the hill down to the start finish.

After the race everything was cool until they ran Champion's bike on the dyno. His first run was 77.8 hp (limit is 79). The dyno guys looked at each other and winced knowing the hp normally goes up on the 2nd and 3rd runs. On the second run the bike sputtered and wouldn't run. It was out of gas. The Suzuki officials could have stopped there but they gave him a chance. They told him they could add enough gas to make it run but it had to be the best gas available at the track (VP MR9) and from an independent source. They did this and the bike ran 81.5 on the first run. That was it, testing over, he lost it.

Not the way Jesse wanted to win it but it was fair. He took his penalty for being under weight in the heat race and the tables turned on Sunday for Champion. I feel sorry for Bradley, he dominated the class all year but he played it too close to the limit for the final and lost out. Part of racing.

I wish you all could have seen Jesse's run up through the pack. It was so cool. The kid is a talent for sure.
Can't wait til next year! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

We've had the opportunity to see it several times this year.  The races between Jesse and Ed Key at MAM was some of the best racing I've seen.  It's been fun.

Way to go Jesse!
