The chicane at Moroso is not the problem Its the track it self. To many guys where air lifted out of there. The speed that the average rider is circulting at that givven track is dangerous. Not much room for mistakes a lot of tire barriers a canal .If your a mid packer or back marker you don't see these dangers around you . You start doing expert lap times You'll see a totally different track.I've been to Moroso off and on since 1989 I rode the track when there was no chicane. There is always something new that some rider gets hurt and they change the track. A disaster waiting to happen is someone running off turn 11 and being in the middle of 5 I hope this never happens.Instead of building those fancy administrative building they should totally rebuild the track to a safe and premier facilty that we would not have to drive across the country for . They will never do it because of the heritage.

Well I was one of the many that crashed in the new chicane so I cant say I like it too much.  It was "interesting" to see how the black top in that section became increasingly scared as the weekend progressed.  Not meaning to be too critical but it seems to me that they did not put any thought in to the development of it.  Just laid a strip of ashphalt in one direction, turned 90 degrees left and laid another until they hit the drag strip.  Hence, the placement of cones and white spray paint during lunch on saturday and the 2 foot drop in elevation if you end up going off the end of the ashphalt.  I know I slid over it.  Not to mention all the dirt and grass that was repeatedly kicked up on to the track becasue you had to cut it so tight. Of course the left hand entrance and right hand exit need some sweep to it and some curbing would be nice to open it up just a bit. If you hit it just a little wrong, you have to doulbe back just to make the exit.  It is easily the tightest chicane at Moroso.  In Florida for all that matters.  I am looking forward to the improvements that was announced before our next date there.

It definitely does what it was implemented for!

I suppose to make the chicane flow more smoothly, it should have had the width of the link (between the left/right) increased, or been diagonal somewhat.

At any rate, while it is an abrupt change to slow way down for it, I'll accept it for what it is - a little "track character" to be dealt with...
