An average HTML page sized at 10k (text) loaded over 1 second. Times that by 1000 is 10,000k, which is 10MB's which is about the upward limit of a usual network connection.

You mean to tell me that your server can't filter though 10mb of data every second at the MOST? It is not astronomical... and most pages can be delayed more than 5 seconds without complain, so filtering is doable, and many times, done. It is not THAT unfeasible. IF we are talking about a company with 50 employees, it is VERY doable. IF we are talking about 1000 employees, then they would have more HW to filter.

ok, so you've already maxxed out a 10 mb connection on the 8080 port.... now let's add in email aka the 25 port....and would you also like to add in quicktime, realplayer, WMP, and all the other various media players...... then we have JAVA plug-ins...... see where i'm going with this... if you're going to screen employees, you don't JUST screen the 8080 port, you have to screen everything.... it would be like installing an alarm system at your house and just putting a sensor on one out of 5 doors, and leaving all the windows wide open.... while at an IT security conference the other week, while briefing I might add... I heard someone say that you don't have to have the best security, just better than the rest cause someone will always go for the lowest hanging branch......

Point taken, although if I was to monitor my employees, I would monitor the hosts they visit the most frequenly and most likely to reduce their productivity. RIght now I just have to walk around and see them hahahah

you are correct, studies have show, that just by eliminating sites like e-bay, all personals sites (yahoo personals, friend-finder, etc.)... cuts 8080 streams by 25%........

Myself, like others, check out his BBS for racing information.  After all this is the CCS (Championship Cup Series) BBS.  We would expect that this would contain posts relating to such.

Watching this thread turn into something other than racing related is not why we tune in.  Degrading each other and calling others names in my book is just not entertaining.  Save that for another BBS.
