9 1/2 weeks out, motion and strength back to 70%, the therapist pushes too hard on my arm and breaks it again.  More surgery on Thursday. :(

Wow...

That sucks, and hurts!   :'(

So is this second surgery on the Dr's dime?

Don't know, Dawn.  I assume so, not to mention the second round of therapy I'll have to go through.  Then there are lost wages to consider.  I'm not a sue happy guy (i.e. make big pain and sufferiing claim), but I think they should reimburse for actual losses.

Holy crap that sucks!  Was the therapist inexperienced?  I'm not one to sue either, but they should do something for you.

9.5 weeks and it re-broke?  I'd look in to another orthopod as well....

Wow, sorry to hear that!

???Unless your bones are not healing like they should, at 9 weeks the break area should be as strong as the original bone.  At least that is what my orthopedic surgeon told me when I was seeing him for a broken and displaced collarbone.
That sucks dude.

Steve, injuries and rehabilitation suck....

Bad medical sucks even more....

Talk about your wasted time...2 rounds of physical therapy...plus all of the recover time. You can't get your time back.

The question is not whether to sue or not, but if you can find a lawyer that feels your case will make him enough money to "waste" his time.

Greedy unethical lawyers suck.

Sean,

Yes, normally at 9 weeks bones should be healed..however...when the bones in question were in 8+ pieces and were basically just put together in a jigsaw type puzzle to grow back together there is some extra time.  People who saw the x-rays would understand, there are 15 screws and 3 metal plates holding it all together.

According to my doctor who is a world class ortho (credentials include ortho for Indianapolis Colts and 1992 US Olympic Team), the X-rays to date have shown the Dr in Alabama did a great job considering what he had to work with.

However, the therapist in question was a student in his final semester of grad school under the supervision of another therepist.  He pushed too hard, and thus I go back for surgery to put this bone back in the "puzzle".

Yes, Matt, my attorney is chomping at the bit over this...like I said i just want actuals back.

Steve, your luck just sucks.  Try to keep your chin up, bro!
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"
