Never been there and was wondering what size sprockets to start with for a 98 GSX-R600?  I've been running 16/47 at Summit and VIR.  Thanks.

If that gearing works well at VIR North than stick with it and you will do fine.

Have you been able to find any information about track layout?

;D I live 20 minutes from the track and call it home so I know it quite well. You can actually go to the tracks website and there is a layout of the track but it is not marked. So I'll give you a run down. Turn 1 is blind and sweeps to the right. Always alot of crap on the track before the turn. Turn 2 is a 3rd gear left (for me) that has some sealer on it. Turn 3 is another 3rd gear right with good amount of bumps and sealer and you need to get on the gas quick to turn 4 or you will get passed bad. Turn 4 is a nice left turn with a short chute to turn 5. Turn 5 is just damn ugly. It hairpins and puts you up onto the bank of the tunnel turn. The pavement is loaded with sealer and has a good size bump to unload the suspension. Turn five puts you onto the banked turn onto the back straight. By the end of the bank you want to get right up on the wall (drag your puck on it). Turn 6 sees alot of guys over shoot do to coming in to hot or getting pushed out by a late breaker. This turn is taken very fast and sweeps into the right. Turn 6 always has dirt on it. A left that you better be in the right gear for or you will get passed. Seven is a bus stop, tight right more dirt. Turn 8 fast left that quickly puts you onto 9. 9 puts you on the straight, if you try to do an inside pass on the exit there is a big unsettling bump. Front straight get out on the wall. Now the big thing about Pocono, do not go off the track. Run off is bad and most times you will not be  ble to save it and there are lots of rocks to shred your bike if you do go down. Most crashes are turn 1 and 7-9.
Oh yeah was just there yesterday talking to them about early entry and they said no SFX enters the track until 7 a.m. Thursday.

Dude...Thanks for the info and time you spent typing all of this up.  It will definitely help to an understanding of what i'm up against.  See you out there.

Here is a cartoonish pic of Pocono to go along with Pete's detailed description.  The FUSA track is lined in Red and is run clockwise.

Have fun,
