At every race weekend is there a open track day the day before?

The best thing is to check with the track before you intend on going. Sometimes it is not "open" but restricted to some group. But I have found that they will always take your cash and let you in. Personally I like the $80 practice days in the SE region. I have been to some other organization's track days and there weren't enough corner workers; they let damn near anyone/any machine on and no or inadequate med facilities. SE CCS just does a damn fine job in running their events, in my opinion.  ;D

Wadya mean?  Today's the 19th, you've got till the 26th.  Hell, I've rebuilt entire machines in less time.  Don't you know that if you want race you have to:

Get up very early  :-/

Stay up all hours of the night  :(

Forget any family or social life :'(

Pay Next Day Air freight charges >:(

Pay rush charges and/or cigars and beer to your favorite suppliers/mechanic/machinist/painter. ;)

Go into debt  :o

Where's your spirit?  You can do it man!

 ;D
