Rider Help Needed

For those that know Laurence Borst I am seeking a little bit of help if you can. Laurence was invovled in a horrible wreck on mothers Day 2001 in turn 9 on Summit main during a CCS race. The damage to him was thought to be career ending, his foot was busted up that bad. Though his foot will never allow him back to the ranks of AMA Pro he has decided to give a one race shot at Pocono this year during an FUSA/CCS race. He will be riding the endurance race on Thursday and I guess his future racing will be decided then. Everyone is showing great support for him including the wonderful people at CCS that are making arrangements for him to get back. However Laurences medical bills are staggering and he is in need of an Arai helmet and good set of gloves to race. So if anyone out there has items he could use or even if there is someone out there that could donate these items to him we will do whatever promoting possible for you. Hell even if you can not donate or lend any items and just want to welcome Laurence back into racing drop me an e-mail that I will forward to him. Thanks again to all that sent there best to him during those very hard times.

Pete, what size helmet, gloves, etc?

Hey Frank he is a medium helmet and gloves are large. Everything would be retuned following the Thursday race cleaned and in the same condition loaned. Also I will not forget the Bridgestone book for VIR and I'll seek you out Friday down there. Good call heading out Sunday the track started to dry and really screwed things up for me, as I stayed with rains. And if you are able to help out I will promote you guys and your team in anyway possible and make sure you get recognition for it in an announced way.

Large gloves and medium helmet.

The reason we are seeking loaners is that we are not sure how able he will be, so purchasing these items would not make sense if he will not be able to race again after this trial. Thanks guys.

Large gloves, I think my helmet is a medium. But whatever he needs, I would not be riding much on Thur. anyway, and I will be sure to cheer him on for the TC.

I have a set of Large Dainese Gloves that are brand new and he can have. The gloves came with my leathers and they do not fit.  Please let me know. I also have a large helmet he can have as well.

Update. So everyone knows Laurence wanted to do this without his previous sponsor/ friends, WCW, feeling obligated or at all necessary to help out. Laurence was not planning on approaching them about it due to the severe mental strain the wreck had put on everyone. HOWEVER, once the guys at WCW found out Laurence was going to do this they IMMEDIATELY went above and beyond to help out and take care of him. So thank you all for the help and especially Ron, Popa Jon, and Robbie at WCW for helping out.

We have a couiple of pairs of gloves but they are mediums. Have a helmet  but it is small. If this can help, let us know. We are rooting for him. Please tell him that one race does not  a career/sport make. GO MAN GO.  8)
