Ok, one more time! :D

Wegman Auction is set to start shortly after the conclusion of racing Saturday, August 23rd.

We've had some great stuff donated. All of the favs will be back:
50/50 raffle ;)
door prizes :D
Food...thank you Nick! ;D
Beer, of course. ;) ;D
Wegman apparel available all day! :D :D :D
We've got several cool things donated by the pros, and lots more cool stuff donated by vendors and other friends of the auction.  8) 8) 8)

And a few new features! We have a cash register this year, so you will get a receipt. All donations are tax deductable! :D

Gordy and Laurel are planning on generating a list sometime during the day on Saturday for you to check out. That way you'll know what great stuff will be available in the evening. ;) ;D

If you are bringing donations to the track, please try to have them to the Auction area soon after they set up. That way your stuff can get added to the list quickly!

The Fund will accept cash, checks and Mastercard or Visa. Bid high, bid often!  :D

As you know, unfortunately the pit bike race will not be run this year. CCS requires the Fund to have liability insurance for this and will not cover us under the CCS policy.  That's CCS's story and they're stickin' to it. The fund doesn't have money to pay insurance and still make a few $$. Sorry for any disappointments. :(

Hope to see everyone there for an evening of fun and conspicuous consumerism! ;D

Do or do not, there is no "try".

We're gearing up for another great auction this year. Everything is falling into place for a good time and hopefully we'll make a lot of  money for injured racers. ;D

One note on the cash register and receipt deal that Alexa mentioned. The only amount of an auction  item purchased is any amount over the retail price of the item. So, if you pay $60 for an item that retails for $40, the amount tax deductible is $20.  That's the way the IRS system works.  ???

As for donations to the auction, they are tax deductible but you only need a receipt if your donation is over $600.  Of course we will give receipts for anyone that wants them no matter what the amount.

We are going electronic this year for most of our sales.  We have a new computer program that lets us track our auction sales as well as apparel, food,  and other things.

The major change is that all our donated items should be on a list available shortly before the auction starts.  That all depends on everyone that is bringing  donations to the track getting them to us as soon as possible on Friday evening and during the day Saturday.  As soon as we get an item it will be listed. Items that show up late or during the auction naturally won't be on it.  If we could make a 2:00 p.m. cut off for getting items to us it would help us get the list printed and available to you as soon as possible.

We will also have a silent auction table with some great stuff on it. There will be a cutoff time for those bids and the items awarded to the highest bidder at a designated time.

Thanks in advance for your support during this years event and thanks to all of you who continue year after year to support our cause.  We truly appreciate everything that is done for the Fund.

Hey, see ya'll soon!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

OK, let me rewrite that second sentence, second paragraph.

"The only amount of an auction item purchased that is tax deductible is any amount over the retail value of the item."

That is much better.  ::)

More cool stuff coming in  .... three prints from Tim Berry (Nicky Hayden, Ben Bostrom and Colin Edwards). You can see Tim's work at timberrymotorsportsart.com.

Lot's O' stuff from Vesrah/Mark Junge Motorsports (brake pads, clutch kits, brake rotors).

Cerificates from MD Racing, Polar Optics shields, Cubs and Sox tickets, Works Performance certificates, Fieldsheer jacket, Spidi leathers, and lots more.

Let us know what you're bringing and we can get it on our list for you to see before the auction starts.

maybe this is too little too late, but...

since only 1 or 2 people run the class anyway, why not have the pit bike race but call it "Ultralightweight Sportsman"?

Everyone's a licensed racer anyway....

food for thought

Andy actual at MaM last time there were like 4 or 5 guys in the class.
