Quotelast year, MAM was like Africa hot... No shade, dust and the track was greasy, yet ate the tires right off the bikes...

Ain't that the way racing should be?  ;D

Do or do not, there is no "try".

QuoteP.S.  Due to your lovely weather down there.....  I am a lovely shade of red today.   :-[ ;) ;D
Now you match Paul's SV!
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

QuoteAsk Kevin (KC124) how he likes those 55-gallon trash barrels...   :o
Yeh, who put that thing in turn seven? ???

QuoteI talked to Rob Saturday night.  He has a broken collarbone and a couple of broken ribs.  Wasn't sure at the time whether he might have some rotator cuff damage too.   :-/
Tell him I said, "Hi!"  Wanted to see him, but I didn't.

MAM?  Good track, funny quicks, but they all have them.  That's part of the game.  Polymer based asphalt has some specific problems too.

I was pretty happy.  I saw so many people crash needlessly.  Sure all crashes are needless, but with the weather conditions the way the were (I'm orginally from Omaha, so I call the weather kind of my home field advantage... ;D), you ride to conserve some strength.  You can't make a bike do certain things.  When I saw that I wasn't going to make up the ground and I was clear of the guys behind, I concentrated on working on the track, smoothing things out and cooling down the bike...which was actually reading a zillion degrees.

Anyway, I watched bowling for dollars happen in front of me and I made money because of it.  I'm actually disappointed that I won't be going back until next year.  But Topeka is coming....coool.   (Not the weather... 8))

I hope the guy that ran me off the track in turn seven, won that practice session. >:(

Hot.  Africa Hot.  Didn't go well with the head cold/sinus infection I had until Sunday...well it was going away on Saturday.

I wish we went back as well.  Finally figured out a couple of things with my riding (actually decision making) on Sunday, things that should help me at every track.  Want to try a different gearing, and take out some downshifts.

The track has gotten easier on tires, at least Pirellis.  Tom Mason and I were talking about how last year the Pirellis were shredded, and this year looked great.  He noticed a big difference in tire wear.  I had 6 races on a rear slick, and it was still hooking up great.  Mind you, I'm not running 35's, but my lack of style can still shred a rear tire pretty quickly ;)

Well, I'm hoping MAM can become my second "home" track, cause you MW people just go to BHF way too much!

Tell Corey and Doc I said hi and hope they are feeling better soon!

One of the guys talked to Corey last night.  He's back home (Columbia).  I guess his hip hurts pretty bad; he swears it's broken but they didn't find anything.  Hopefully he's just sore from the tumble.

Update on Rob Waddell (AM #417)

Haven't reached him today but Rob posted this on another site last night:

"Just wanted to add for any watching this post, I just got back from urgent care.  I started coughing up some blood this afternoon.  Looks like I can add a puctured lung to the list.  No chest tube YET!  Monitoring it for now and revisit chest x-rays Wednesday."
