You probably can't go wrong with Ohlins, Scotts, or Hyperpro. There is also Matris, Arrow, Sprint, and others which should be ok.

I personally use Ohlins on the race bike and the street bike. There have been arguments about the rotary dampers vs rod style dampers, but people on both sides of the camps like what they use and I haven't heard of problems with either.

Just watch some of the older Hyperpros if you go used. They had a seal issue a couple of years ago that would allow the fluid to leak out. They acknowledged the problem and I think they took care of everyone who complained. Don't know of any issues with the newer Hyperpros or any other manufacturers I listed.

I have heard the same thing about the Hyperpro leaking...it happened to a buddy of mine.

I use the Scotts on my bikes....I love it...and like the easy changing function.  After all, Scotts is made by Ohlins...so any Ohlins would be good. ;D

Hmmm

Hello, I've got the Scotts and couldn't be happier. In addition to the full range of adj. the interchangablity (plops right onto my '98 VFR8Fi) and back in less than 5 minutes. As for the durability of it, well I put the RR down in T4 (I think) at Summit last weekend and it survived perfectly. For the price, background (Ohlins), convenience and performance, I LOVE the Scotts', but of course this is just my opinion.

I use an Arrow, it works excellent, survived two crashes.  It is fairly expensive but works great.

I am, in addition to most of my instructors, using the Hyperpro dampeners, and shocks and springs for that matter.

No leaks.  I heard the same thing myself, so we've had a watchful eye out for it.

The shock is great.

I'll put a third vote in for the Scotts.
LOVE IT! Works flawlessly, rebuildable, (did I mention looks awesome!) and it survives wicked crashes! I've had mine for about 4 years and I don't have one complaint. From installation to use it's the best!

I have used GPR, Street & Comp, and Ohlins.  The ohlins was the most expensive, but the only one that I liked.  I have ridden a couple of bikes with the new Hyperpro as well.  They seemed pretty nice too.

only problem with Hyperpro is that they are nearly impossible to rebuild!  At least that is the case with the ones that mount in the stock location on GSXR1000's!  Go with Ohlins!
