CCS SW race date question

I noticed that originally the SW date for Las VEgas Twin Sprint weekend was August 30, but was changed sometime over the last few months to August 2/3.  I m assuming that this is correct?  Anyone else have any other info on this?

It's Aug. 1-3.  I had to plan an out-of-the country vacation and e-mailed Linda Hipps.  She confirmed that it was the first weekend in Aug.

Drink lots of water, it's going to be a hot one. Quite frankly, I can't believe a race is scheduled on that weekend when it's one of the hottest times of the year in the desert. Jeez, this place is hot enough without racing in it. Last year, at least we took July and Aug. off. This year, we race on July 4th weekend and Aug 1-3 when it's 115 degrees... great.

I was wondering if a good race stradegy would be to idle around the track until everyone else overheats and then take the win!  It sound like a race of attrition weekend to me!  Maybe we could race at night?
