Quote–After consultation with Homestead Miami Speedway officials the Championship Cup Series has decided to cancel the February event at Homestead Miami Speedway. ASRA/CCS President Kevin Elliott said "With the interest level in this event lower than expected, it is in the best interest of all parties involved to cancel this event." Elliott went on to say "All pre-entered riders have been contacted and arrangements made to accommodate them in the best manner possible. We appreciate all the support we have gotten from those consulted on this decision and look forward to returning to Homestead in December."

I am contemplating going to Homestead (as a spectator.)
I will be driving a large, empty, cargo van.  If anyone in Tampa Bay area, or on my way, needs something hauled, let me know.

Homestead Gate Information
Gates Open 6am Saturday Morning!

We have worked out some very important details with Homestead Miami Speedway that you will need to know.

Gate opens at 6am Saturday morning. There is a car track rental Friday which pushed the Penguin program to Monday so we are limited to only official access on Friday afternoon. HMS will be hosting it's Fast Lane Friday Drags after 6pm so the paddock area is not open to us until Saturday morning.

On Saturday when you pull up towards the gate, we will stop you short to allow officials and vendors to go in first. Please move as far over to the right side of the drive as possible so as to allow the officials and vendors to line up on the left side and then we will get everyone in as quick as possible.

ASRA/CCS Officials will start signing people in and issuing credentials by 5:30am to facilitate a fast and orderly move in.

Gate fee is $25 on Saturday (Complete weekend entry) and $15 on Sunday. There are no Saturday only admissions.)

There will NOT be any concessions open on site. Please be prepared to fend for yourselves. (Another COVID casualty.)

Camping inside on Saturday night is allowed for a small fee paid to HMS. On Friday night you can park outside the speedway to the left of the entrance road at no charge. There is no electricity available outside the facility so bring your generator.

ASRA 2020 National Championship Awards will be presented in Victory Lane following the event on Saturday and Sunday.

Pre-entry grids are available online now.

Don't miss the season Finale of ASRA, ASRA Team Challenge and the Florida Road Racing Championships!
Look at the Updated Homestead Schedule and Covid Information

Paddock:

All trailers and pit areas should be 10 feet apart. To make sure there is enough room, we ask that you park your trailer or set up your paddock space and then move your extra vehicles to a parking area. Remember the paddock is shared space, be kind to your neighbors so we don't have to ask anyone to move or leave.

Masks are required when you are in contact with others outside your pit/paddock area. If you are going to visit another rider in their pit or paddock, masks are required if you are within 6 feet of that rider or their crew. NOTE: You do NOT have to wear a mask around your pit/paddock when only you, your family and your crew are in your area. Riders do not need to wear masks when wearing their helmet on the track.

Riders meetings will be done at Victory Lane. During riders meetings we ask you social distance from one another and if that is not possible, PLEASE WEAR YOUR MASK!

If you happen to fall down, the ambulance will only put you in the ambulance if you need medical attention. Otherwise they will check you out and then if you are deemed physically okay, they will have you ride back to the paddock with the crash truck. This helps eliminate the down time required for the ambulance to sanitize the cabin after any patient is placed inside.
Registration:

Our goal is to limit personal contact to a minimum.

We will use the media center to set up registration windows to limit contact. If you must enter the infield registration room for any reason, you must wear a mask.

Each rider will bring and use their own mask in infield registration.

Pre Entered riders with no changes (you must have a working Westhold transponder listed on your paperwork, there will be no rentals in this line.)

Pre Entered riders with changes (if you need to rent MyLaps of Westhold transponder you must be in this line.)

Post-entry lines will take all other licensing, rental and post-entry.

Each rider will be given their own pen, at the end on the line there will be a bucket for the rider to drop the pen in for us to sanitize when registration closes. (Registrars will sanitize their work station with wipes and/or spray anytime they return to their station and before leaving in the evening.)

Each registrar will wear gloves and face mask. ASRA/CCS will provide hand sanitizer for clerks and the racer to use. All staff in registration will be at their own window and either the window or a breath guard between them and the racer. (Please remember to stand 6' apart or wear your mask while waiting in line.)

Once the racer is finished please out the pen in the bucket..
Tech:

Our goal is to limit personal contact to a minimum.

Each inspector will wear gloves, face mask and have hand sanitizer for them and/or the racer to use.

We will have multiple tech lines approximately 10-12' apart.

Inspectors will strive to maintain 6' separation in the lines waiting to be inspected.

Racer will bring a stand to tech with the motorcycle and place the bike on the stand and move 6' away from the motorcycle. Then the inspector will evaluate the machines race-readiness. After placing an approval sticker on the machine or notifying the rider of what needs to be addressed, the inspector will move away from the machine and let the racer remove their machine from the tech area.

While we have some specific in-depth procedure changes for the staff, these are the outline we are starting with to mitigate the potential of spreading the virus among or racers and staff.

ASRA/CCS management believe these measures would allow us to be safe and in full compliance with existing restrictions but we understand new orders could be issued with immediate implementation that could remove/change procedures or require postponement or cancellation.
The schedule for the weekend is attached, below.
